I almost never play spy in 6s, let alone in pubs. But in the event that I do off class to spy, which loadout should I use? I feel like letrenger is more valuable for the extra cloak time. What do you all think?
stock everything isn't bad, though the ambassador and l'etranger are both decent upgrdes
I would use the default loadout.
In HL it´s okay to just sit around cloaked and tell your team whats going on but in 6s really all you do is get a pick and die and you should have enough cloak for that. Also if you mess up your stab you might as well put out as much damage as possible before you die and the reolver is definitaly better at that then the letranger.

l'tranger at all times, unless you have amazing ambassador aim
cloak and dagger is usually better for pushing a last, while the stock is better for second to mid transitions

here's how I get the perfect spy loadout:
1 - Go to class selection screen
2 - pick a proper class

everyone i see use cloak and dagger just like slowly inches forever like a retard and eats spam and dies
i just use stock watch and amby and i usually get a pick every time i go spy for like a last push
i think the cloak time is long enough to not need the cloak and dagger benefits

dead ringer
disguise as an enemy scout and hope the other team is moronic and lets you backcap last 8^)

thats doing it wrong
1: go like halfway into their last
2: get into a corner or something where you wont get spammed
3:wait
4: go in and wait
5: pick

Depends on the map, if its a map like gran cloak and dagger is nice, if its a map like process you can use stock and just hide up top or something
c&d tends to make people wait too long to de-cloak and get a pick. i like using stock watch and I rotate through stock revolver/letranger/ambassador
Letranger + stock everything else
The extra cloak is too useful for getting into a last

IMO the amby is better than letranger for 6s, it helps you salvage failed stab attempts and really you only need enough cloak to get behind the other team. the revolver's damage is also pretty underrated. letranger is good for being invisible long enough to just walk around forever and uncloak at the perfect time, but if you need that much time i feel like cnd would be better
You're putting your team at a disadvantage just for playing spy so whatever doesn't prolong your life and still gives you a chance for a pick is best.

the diamondback can also easily turn a medpick into a 2k if you're lucky, but personally i think the letranger is the most convenient.

I feel the C&D tends to make people play too passively as spy. I prefer to go stock, use the decloak sound to confuse (or to simply decloak if I'm that far behind them) then go in for a pick.
However, pushing last, C&D is infinitely better because you don't have the space to safely decloak; allowing your team time to set up and spam so you can decloak and go for a pick is invaluable.
Personally I don't use the L'entranger because there's enough metal scattered around the map to get you to the places you want to be.
The revolver vs. ambassador argument boils down to "can you click heads"

I disagree with this only because 9/10 times you're going to be going spy to push last. This means that the enemy team should all be overhealed. If you miss a stab, getting 102 damage on anyone but the medic is pretty much inconsequential, and odds are you won't have time to get more than like 2 shots off before you get completely obliterated. I think spy in 6s (again, while pushing last or breaking a stalemate) is all about whether or not you can pick someone important. I think it's all about that stab, so the strongest loadout would be stock watch (CnD depending on the map) and the l'etranger.
If you manage to gun down someone as a spy, it's generally either because they fucked up or you got lucky. I can't find the clip, but insert killing's amby spy play as an example of being lucky.

mTs Noko once told me the best spy watch to use in 6v6 was the cloak and dagger.
Pushing Badlands Last
1) Equip Deadringer
2) Disguise as friendly Sniper
3) Show self to other team, yell a voice command as sniper.
4) Disguise as friendly Scout
5) Go bottom right into last
6) Try to survive without employing Deadringer
7) Employ Deadringer, run on point
8) Wait for Stickies to det and kill you
9) As demo tries resetting stickies, uncloak
10) Cap point
60% of the time, this works every time, despite what b4nny will try and tell you.
Also the essential strategy for capping badlands in a pub.

L'etranger + stock if your sole focus is a medpick
L'etranger + camp and dagger if you wish to go for a backcap

i usually run CnD but i don't really like it. if i ever played it enough i'd probably run w/ stock watch. no sitting in corners and letting your team play 5v6 for longer than necessary and it forces you to think and act quickly. dead ringer is in between for me.
as far as primary goes, i feel like i aim better with the revolver. not sure why. it does more damage anyway, unless you're amazing at getting headshots with the ambassador.

kunai + diamondback = gg
imo revolver>amby in 6s, you can't snipe like in hl because it gives you away, and 102+51 = you can only 2shot a medic at point blank, and if you miss, he'll regen and make it 3 anyway, also butterknife + 2 guns doesn't kill med
