I've been having an issue playing back my friend's demos and him playing back mine. Whenever I try to play his demos back all the player models remain stuck as they were at the end of pregame except for him. He runs around the map like normal but none of the other players move from their pregame positions and the HUD never updates. I can play any other demos fine and he can play any other demos fine. Is anyone else familiar with this issue?
Try playing the demo, stopping the playback, and then playing it again.
Tried that same issue. Also tried hud_reloadscheme and it just breaks the demo http://puu.sh/8Glgo.jpg
I'm also getting these errors in console http://puu.sh/8GlpI.jpg

If you do a hud_reloadscheme while the demo is paused you'll see that screen with all the random HUD elements on it. I think those errors you are getting are from you playing in dx8 (I assume) as none of the sheens from killstreak weapons work at all. If you're skipping around through demo and it's causing problems try putting mat_queue_mode to 0 as for whatever reason it seems to solve all problems with skipping in demos (for me).
I had this exact same issue, the demos turned out the be broken, all of them, sorry mate, what you probably should try is running the demos in 600% and see at what tick it crashes.
It's not that the demos are crashing, it's that the other players don't move from their positions after startup. I don't play in dx8 but my friend does. I've tried forcing dx8 on my version of TF2 but it doesn't help.
Edit: I'm uploading a video of what exactly is going on when I play the demo back so it's 100% clear.

Hey, I meant to post here earlier, but I forgot.
Anyways, the way to fix this is to go into console before you launch the demo and type "mat_queue_mode 0"
If "0" doesn't work as a value, try anything between -2 and 2. If that doesn't work, then idk what's up.
The problem is usually caused by processing errors on other computers, and the mat_queue_mode command changes the threading settings.
