There will be a maximum of 4 maps in this bo5 because of mix^'s one map advantage, so I assume they'll just play all 4 with no repeats.

I agree with your, Marm. Though I think the true purpose of the event was to raise funds for the teams going, the "qualifying" thing seems to me more of a way to make it matter. Of course this community rocks my socks off and already raised enough for the teams before the qualifier so it wasn't really necessary in the end.

oh yeah no doubt, i know that this was to generate hype/donations but still, what if xts won? would we really send our 4th place lan team over mixup? i'd be mad as fuck if i was mixup and even angrier if i was xts and told "yo you won buttttt we're still sending mix"

Do I think we are 4th best in NA? No. I firmly believe we are 3rd. We've scrimmed 20b quite a bit throughout the season, and while they would almost always keep it close, we would usually win in the end (regardless if we are talking scrims or matches). All 4 LAN teams would usually keep things close throughout the season, no matter who played who. The important thing to note is that this LAN was incredibly competitive, because if any team had any kind of misstep or let the smallest thing slip by, that could be the difference between winning and losing.
We fucked up at LAN. Period. We had a lot of mistakes and 20b took advantage of that. None of us are "online" or any dumb bullshit like that. 20b was on their shit, and we just got clumsy at the worst times. They stepped it up when it mattered the most, and I give them a lot of praise for that.
Would it have been a mistake if we beat mix^ today and we went to i52? Absolutely not. We are extremely capable of beating mix^, but they were the better team.
All I give a shit about is sending the best two teams in NA to i52. If that happened to be us, then awesome. If not, then awesome. If we went, we would have done every single possible thing within our power to take it home for NA. I just want another NA grand finals. That's all I want from this.

Imagine if mixup, xts or 20b pulled a dreamteam-move like mixup did after the s11-lan for i46. You are now dealing with different rosters, possible different results, now how would you decide who gets to go to i52? An online qualifier it's the best option.
At the end no one changed rosters, but still if you look at it, it was a good move because the community deserved to know that they are sending WITH their money the best teams NA can offer.

just seems silly that we more or less duplicate the environment our boys will be playing in over in EU and then say "ok ignore the results except 1st, we're having an online event to determine who's second"
regardless i hope the star spangled banner is all over that grand finals stage and someone just fucking spikes a can of budweiser on the main stage and whips their dick out and helicopters that shit when they win the final round of the lan.
