Hello Tf.Tv, so today I have an important highlander match that dictates if my team makes playoffs or not, and I was wondering the most efficient way to fully warm up before any big scrims or matches.
BTW: I'm playing scout

Are you worried about your aim or your mind?

Mostly aim, I'm pretty chill before matches, but I'm pretty rusty considering I wasn't at my main computer for around 2 weeks

For highlander scout just play 32 man pub servers.

Huge thing for me that helps is washing your hands in hot water, it helps blood flow and limberness.

As for warming up do what everyone else has said (32man pub, MGE, DM server) but don't do it for 3 hours straight before the pre-game scrim and match or there is a chance you'll get burnt out. Ideally play for an hour or so at noon. Do something else for an hour or two. Play for an other hour, take a break, play some more, etc. That is typically what I do or something similar.

if you wanna play hard you gotta rest hard

MGE/DM, but only until you feel like you're hitting most of your shots. Once you hit that peak, stop playing for a bit otherwise you risk burning yourself out.

I have direct confirmation that Invite level scout Kapoww says this is the best warmup he has ever used and prefers it over dm.
But what does he know

I like tr_newbots for simple, quick aim warmup session. And tyler_rocket_shooting_v3_d.bsp for soldier. But honestly, most scouts like to do dm (listed in server section of tftv) before games. DM servers help give more typical aim practice. MGE is an okay alternative. But the goal in MGE (to most) is being the most "crafy" to win. So if that means not playing typical of how a 6s situation might play out, may not be the best idea for practice. But a decent place for aim practice.

koth_harvest is actually pretty good lol until the mini sentry engy comes, tr_newbots is decent but don't play too long or you'll just burn out.

honestly scout vs. scout mge is a great warmup. you don't have to play "crafty" (substitute with lame, cheesy, gay, cornerfucking, etc.) because it's not about winning or getting points but the simple fact that your aim has to be constantly "on" all the time that makes mge and things similar to it (q3amphi, povdmm4) really good warmups. especially when you consider that being a scout aiming at scouts is faster and harder to aim at than pretty much anything in any game including quake
(to me) the point is that you're just constantly bombarded with the situation of having to aiming at someone who's doing the same thing to you so I don't understand the point of trying to play crafty to win
dm servers are a slightly more realistic portrayal of the chaos of mids and 6s (I have no experience with HL but I'm sure it's even crazier) and they're more fun so I usually opt for those though

DM and MGE are definitely good for getting warmed up, but so is stuff like surfing, which gets you used to smooth, accurate aiming/movement, and jumping, which if you do a decent amount you can really get used to the weird properties of the physics in tf2, and how to (ab)use them.
