Hello friends, the photo gallery integration for tftv is still a work in progress so I was advised to use an alternative until its ready.
I have uploaded the photos from the Windy City Rendezvous to my Flickr account and they are viewable here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/19898225@N04/sets/72157646084852975/
-I apologize in advance for some of the unfocused shots, the lighting at the event was very difficult to deal with. I could give a more in depth comment on why things turned out fuzzy, but I have researched ways to alleviate this so it won't be a problem in the future
Also, I have also uploaded the ESEA S16 LAN photos here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/19898225@N04/sets/72157645668771739/
Sorry for the delay guys, we really wanted to make these viewable in-site but i52 prep is delaying things, lots of things going on at once. Go ahead and link your favorite photos in this thread to chat about

So that one picture of me 100% captures what I'm like while casting or doing voice over stuff.

This is my favorite because I'm in it, and Jules looks severely disappointed with her coffee. I don't think it had the sobering effect she was hoping it would!

Impressive photography, tagg. You are really talented.
I like the soft glow of the lighting even if it was a bit dim to work with, but I absolutely love the bokeh.

julesdoingworkI hate you, Bluebeefman.
No hating me until I get the cupcakes I was promised. I don't want to bite into a razor blade!
Also thanks Tagg for posting these! I thought about bringing my camera, but I wanted to spend my time there shooting things in game, not out. So thanks for documenting the event!

Holy shit the work you did given the light level is crazy. I don't think people who weren't there realize just how dark it was in the center.

as a photography enthusiast what kind of gear do you use?
i see you've been shooting with the nikon d5200 with a 50mm prime lens, but do you have any other gear?

karppohi see you've been shooting with the nikon d5200 with a 50mm prime lens, but do you have any other gear?
not yet, being a college student has its downsides so i don't have much money to spend on gear.
My 50mm prime is my go to lens at the moment, im trying to get a 35mm prime for i52 but i have to get out of the red from my plane ticket first.
I have a shoulder rig, a lav mic, and a recorder for dslr video and im trying to also get a tripod dolly in time for i52 as well

well thats a nice base for gear atleast(:
some whatabout constructive criticism on the photos; you seemed to shoot most of those photos (all?) on quite shallow depth of field (f/1.8 or so) was there a certain reason behind that? did you want to create the bokeh effect for the portraiture or what? even some of the group photos are a bit out of focus because the dof :v
annnd some of these photos were a tad underexposed or they were swayed (thats a word right?:D)
i think you really should've bumped up the iso in order to get properly exposed and steady photos (or a tip: shoot on a 2 sec timer if youre shooting on not really handheldable shutter speeds [everything under 1/40 really], this way you can avoid the jolting to the photo what comes from hitting the shutter button)
anywayyss i love your play with the foreground and background subjects, and im really looking forward to your i52 photos:´) lets hope that the new hall is lit a tad better so you dont have to shoot stupidly exposed photos (unless you shoot hdr, but thats generally hard to achieve when shooting moving objects :P)
i prolly didnt cover even half of the things that came to my mind but i cant really describe them well enough in english
yeah gl on your future endeavours:)

yeah thats pretty much the situation i was faced with at WCRV, that was my first experience shooting in such a low light environment and I completely forgot to tinker with my iso settings (oops)
At i52 i will have a monopod for stabilization and I will be sure to pay closer attention to all the settings necessary

Is that Jonah Hill?
If you get the chance to, try not to bump your exposure all the way to the max (ie. 1.8) as the images lose sharpness. I think 50 1.8's are at their sharpest at around 3.2. Ofc, the lowlight environment is completely understandable! Regardless, great job. Lemme know if you ever wanna talk cameras and film gear!
