Are there any other pictures of the casting area besides this?:

Wondering if its actually a separate room and whether its big enough to act as a stage for the finals. Would be be nice to host the finals at a time of the community’s choosing, rather than the earliest possible slot (2/5am for NA viewers). Can well imagine that multiplay wouldn’t like the idea due to contracts with sponsors, but perhaps its something still worth exploring?

There's google streetview of the ricoh arena.
It would be big enough to host TF2 finals, but it also has people sitting there playing LoL :(
10am GMT would totally suck, still working on it :(

Looking at you twitter bigboys with the large followings!
Twitter is just one way... If you can, please remind Multiplay via email/facebook/twitter/dickpic/snapchat about the awesome TF2 community they had at the previous iSeries events (that sweet crowd ROAAAWRRRR @ finals), just in case they forgot.

Though I like the idea, unfortunately this isn't really viable. The whole point of the finals being a 'big thing' is for the interaction with the crowd. From what I've seen that just won't be possible in the room currently allocated for TF2 casting.
The issues that exist are:
1) All of the PC setup will be on the main stage, e.g. Cameras, Big Screens, Commentator stations etc. We will not be having any PC's available for playing on the TF2 stage.
2) The finals game have always had to be on the MPUK stream, this won't be changing.
3) Seats for public viewing - I expect some to be present for the TF2 area but nothing like the amount of the actual finals stage.
4) We still want other event goers to be watching the TF2, will they do that if it's tucked away in a side room?
Again, I like the idea and anyway to avoid the 10am start is a good idea, this one just won't work I think.

Hello,
I'm afraid due to stage schedules and time restrictions, the current TF2 slot is the latest we can provide. The final will be shown on the main stage.
If you require any further assistance, please let us know.
You can view this ticket on our support portal, here: https://support.multiplay.co.uk/support/tickets/****

If the final is at 10am I don't think you have to worry about having enough seating :/
Can we please not contact MP in the masses about the TF2 Grand Final if you're info is not valid. Kaneco you've clearly misinterpreted what's happening and now you've sent them something which isn't valid. What would be better was if a petition was made and everyone signed up to it maybe?
There is a grand final for TF2, and there is a big ass stage for us too, and the whole standard setup we have every year, the difference is, is that it's at 10am British time, which is donkey aids for US viewers.
I am currently doing my best to get in touch with The Gods of MP to see if it can be switched.
Cheers

Insomnia 52 Tournament Schedule
http://omg.wthax.org/6Z2aWS.png
This is the problem. I don't think we can really say to Multiplay, "hey we're a bigger deal than the games on later than us, bump 'em". It's selfish to discommode other games with their own plans for our ends.
The options as I see it are:
a) Move the Grand Final to Saturday night, in the time slot of the Semi Final (2130h) and squeeze the tournament schedule to allow for that. This makes Sunday the time for wound-licking, post mortem talkshows, and tying up any other loose ends. It severely reduces the sustained length of hype time. Multiplay may not be prepared to let us have the main stage on Saturday (assuming the semi final is schedule to be played in the gaming halls).
b) Move the Grand Final to late late Sunday night (12 AM). We get longer to prepare, more build up, and more residual spectators from previous games. We also get a palatable time for "most" international viewers. However, this goes beyond the scheduled time of the tournament and may simply be infeasible from a logistics standpoint in terms of Multiplay having to pay event staff for over-time and keeping the venue open for longer.
Neither option looks probable right now. So it goes.
