Blaming Google for this is the most retarded thing ever. Google has a lot to lose over a lawsuit. They're protecting their own asses from the stupid copyright laws the US has especially when we talk about the music copyright laws. If Google got in a lawsuit with big music companies, they would lose a huge chunk of money.
As soon as TFTV adds hitbox support in the sidebar I'll be switching over.
AFAIK you can double tap space to disable the mute

dashnerWould it pick up ambient music that might be playing at a LAN venue for instance? That's pretty important to know for me going into a production like i52 or GXL.
They stated that it could be picked up. None of my videos have gotten flagged yet, but they may have just not gotten to me yet.

The music problems are solved.
Also, if you have purchased any music from MonsterCat, be sure to credit the song with:
"Music provided by Monstercat".

A big problem is still music in games like Fallout, GTA.
Those are part of the games, and even if it is technically against the law its equally as fucking retarded.

that doesnt solve the music problems at all since there have been proven false detections and that the problem lies in the crappy service that twitch uses to detect content.

Seriously?
Google Search Engine, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Earth, Google Docs, Google Play, Google Books, Chrome, Hangouts, The Android OS, Google Calender, Google Keep, Google Alerts, Google News, Google AdWords, the fun doodles on Google's main page, Project Loon, Google Fiber.
Here's the bandwagon. Here's you jumping on it.
There are enough good artist willing to have their music streamed.

It would be hard if you're particularly into older music where the artist is dead or whatever, so you'd have to go through whichever company owns the song's rights, and they might not see it in your favor.
What the hell? There's a lot of good old vods and I'm sad to hear that they're going to be gone soon. At least hilights are saved from what I've heard.
I also won't be wearing my Twitch hoodie for awhile.
What a fucking brilliant idea, why not make Google+ mandatory to "improve user experience"?
Too bad it's the "YouTube issue", they got the huge user base and it's too late to make people switch to an alternative.
Lex
- Buy a website for $1,000,000,000 (ONE BILLION DOLLARS).
- Ruin it with copyright laws.

This is something that was bound to happen google or no google. It's a miracle it's made it this long without being shut down.

That's the thing. They're laws. Google isn't just some evil company that eats puppies and stops you from listening to your music, they're legally mandated to. Google is a large enough company to show up on the music industry's radar, and they'd have to require several fundamental parts of twitch to change in order to not breach these laws. It was probably part of the deal - "We'll improve your back end with better and more servers, but you have to change x so we don't get swarmed by lawyers". It's a fundamentally flawed system, but as much as people like to think it's Google's idea, it's really not.
people switching to other services literally solves nothing. yeah twitch is going through some shit right now but its inevitable. hitbox is an awesome service, but they're gonna get hit with the same shit down the road either way. im sure with time this is going to get better
Summary:
7449 minutes unprocessed (80%)
1569 minutes unmuted (16.9%)
288 minutes muted (3.1%)
lol most of my muted stuff is my most recent vods
black eyed peas/gramatik/daniel powter/madeon/plus-tech sqeezebox are all copyrighted
but not britney spears or backstreet boys LMAO
i wonder how the system works
Have had Spotify Premium for more than a year now. Glad to know it's worth nothing in this context.
Music industry shooting itself in the foot once again. Also thanks twitch for selling out.
Gunbladeidk about you kaneco but id fuckin sellout for 1b
Well it depends, chances are if you already owned twitch you were well off in life. Probably could get a job in the field anywhere and a decent payout. Selling out while giving you a bit more maneuver has its very noticeable downsides as you can see...
Guess it all depends on how much you love your baby (project). Some people have actual goals for their projects other than cashing out when they make it big.

could be his label or something, or probably his remixes lol
People seem to be blaming google/twitch for this but it's quite simply not their fault. Because of the amount of time that this has gone unnoticed and left alone, the RIAA can sue them for any fucking amount of money they really feel like.
I'm pretty sure that Google also do not want to have their whole content ID system in place, but because of the mounting pressure from the record companies they literally have no choice. All these guys have to do is say "this has cost us £5.3 Billion dollars in missed revenue" or any other retarded amount like that and either try and get that money or get the site in question shut down.
This is a problem with the archaic laws that are in place that have nothing to contribute to a growing digital world.
If this does escalate then people are just going to move to the next platform, we will just go around in circles.
I think this is marvellous, collectively your taste in music is absolute shit* and I can barely watch any streams at all because of it.

Donno like Jon boy. Video game nerds in general have shit music tastes but there's some good ones in the tf.tv Last.fm group.
