So I'm writing this at 2 AM while my judgement is clouded, and I'm bored out of my mind.
So I've recently been really bored with school, and pretty much with life in general. I play video games because my every day life is pretty uninteresting. Which is odd to me, since I do a ton of stuff. I run cross country, play soccer, and do a lot of activities that are supposed to be fun and engaging. In 1 year I go off to college to get a degree I don't really care about.
I've always tried to experiment with new stuff, but I always end up quitting it because it never captivates my imagination. Whenever I think about the future I end up getting annoyed and frustrated because everyone around me seems to have a definite idea about they want to do while I'm still messing around in school completely confused as to what I'm supposed to be doing.
So yeah. Anyone have any ideas for what I should try?

Go out and find something you love and want to pursue. do it.
How old are you? Just so you know, it's totally normal to not know what you want to do with your life until you're into or near your twenties. A lot of your friends who are planning university degrees or whatever may end up switching majors three times or just abandoning it completely. Don't sweat it too much if these people say they have plans. Not many people know exactly what career they want straight out of high school and follow through on it, in my experience. Plus - don't define or judge yourself based on how others are doing. There will always be A-type people who are off making millions of dollars and doing better than you and better than almost everyone else, so why waste your time thinking about that? Just worry about you.
As for a plan, I ended up picking broadcasting and film for my schooling at 22 after really reflecting on what my passion was. Is there something that you did as a younger kid that you would really love to do again? Some hobby or pastime that you'd love to be able to do for money?

Just to clarify before I go on, I don't have any advice for what exactly you should try, but I thought I could help you look at this dilemma from a different angle. First off, there's no shame in not knowing what you want to do in the future. In fact, a lot of the people who claim to know what they want to do, do it because they feel like they need to hold on to something before it's too late, and aren't 100% sure themselves. The cold fact is that over half of college students will change their major at least once before they graduate; deciding isn't easy. The reason I bring this up is that you shouldn't feel discouraged because you feel that you are lagging behind, or others have better self-awareness on this issue, because this is a universally-common worry and the fact that you are looking for help on figuring it out is a huge step. As far as actually finding that interest, one of the best approaches is being open-minded and putting yourself in as many situations as possible where you can experience different fields. Don't box yourself in to a certain salary range or ideal criteria, because there are also plenty of people living in regret that they went down the path they did for logistical reasons, rather than actual appeal. There's no easy answer here, but the best advice I can give is to try everything and anything that is available to try. You'll never know what you may end up loving.

Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and continue trying new things that are a bit outside your comfort zone. Eventually you will find something that makes you happy, a real purpose.
Most people coming out of high school who seem to have a definite idea of what they want to do later realize they made that commitment too early. Take your time to find the things you value and start there.
I recently graduated college and it wasn't until my sophomore year that I realized I wanted to devote my time to the less fortunate rather than making big bucks as a pharmacist. I am sure you will grow as a person so don't worry yourself too much.

I don't know how well this would work for you, but I've found that having good mates at school is always a pretty good way to get excited. It's neat to just talk shit with someone every now and again. Other than that, try and think of something to do after school. I really enjoy listening to music and when I find a new song I really like I can't wait to get home to listen to it, but this most likely won't work for you.
In terms of the degree, you need to think about what's more important for you. Would you like to earn more money or do something you like? You said you want to captivate your imagination, so you could do something in art/music/whatever that might not pay very well (it should probably be able to support you unless you want to be a homeless person (who knows, you might)) but you will still be happy doing.
That's my two cents at least, hope everything works out.

Find something that you are excited about. Find something that, when you're not doing it, all you can do is think about doing it more. When I started learning to play guitar, music kinda clicked with me. Now, there's pretty much not a waking moment (or sleeping moment for that matter) where I'm not playing music in my head, thinking about playing music, thinking about practicing guitar. It's a pretty great feeling to find something that you are passionate about.

Like have you considered the fact that you may be depressed and maybe over stressed with too many activities? Having too much on your plate may be causing you to not fully engage/enjoy any single activity.
Also don't think about what you want/should be doing. What you excel in will normally emerge as you actually live your life.

This is what happened too me, I got rid of Facebook (and most social media), cut back a lot on gaming and my social activities (I still socialise) and it allowed me to focus a lot more on schooling and my web career as well as giving me a clear mind.

Sounds like burn out to me. I did a whole bunch of shit in high school, and after some medical conditions made me stop doing shit for a few months (had to have back surgery) I realized I quite liked not doing so much shit. I also found that many of the reasons I did a lot of the things I was involved in were for reasons other than "I want to do this." It's part of growing up and asserting yourself. It's better to go to college not knowing what you want to do or having doubts - than to get 3 years deep into a degree and discover that you hate it.

try and do something new everyday like talk to a different person everyday. Anything to get you out of your comfort zone is really exciting.

I've found that I've changed what I want my life to be (consider I'm speaking from 21 years of experience and that's it) several times, and who I am, and what I enjoy, with both extremes of motivation and caring about the above.
I feel it all comes down to a solid realization of the concept that the life you lead is up to solely you, and what you are and what you accomplish can only arise out of your doing.
That being said, I have one suggestion for you to try, and I'm sure something good will come of it:
Meditate
Not actually - literally just sit for 30 minutes a few times a week and do nothing. You do not have to clear your mind. You just have to sit there and pay attention to your thoughts actively for a bit. Want to go up and do something else? Do it after the 30 minutes are up.
I have found that at the very least, I feel rejuvenated and a sense of "being alive", it acts as a soft reset for whatever my day was like, Most times I think of things I wanted to do more easily, and also have increased drive to do them.
Also, please have no worry that you don't know what you want to do yet. Just don't give up on yourself and stop looking. Thank you for caring enough to ask even. Be well, my best of luck to you!

You're going to college in about a year, which likely means you're around 17 or 18, maybe 19. It's totally normal to not necessarily know what you want to do or what kind of career you really wish to pursue. A lot of different kinds of opportunities are gonna come your way (not just jobs or stuff like that, but anything). I would worry less about not knowing what you wanna do for a job or what you like to do as a hobby, and more about just having a good time and trying out new things.
It just honestly sounds like your everyday activities seem redundant to you, so add something new. Get a boyfriend/girlfriend, become friends with someone new, join a club/gathering (at school or at a friend's house), etc. It's totally fine if a new activity doesn't work out, just keep at it and try something else.
Also, keep in mind that even if you find a new activity, it's not necessarily a bad thing or a failed attempt if you don't stick with it. I played racquetball for about a year (which is incredibly fun, by the way) and then I never really played after that. I got kinda busy with other things and never got back into it, but I'm totally glad that I played for the time being.

I'm 17, and a senior in high school. As for hobbies and what not that could turn into a career I suppose economics is something that I enjoy. I'm going to research that more now, since I have the day off from school.

Fairly hard to do. My schedule is pretty tight, but I've been gradually trying new things in clubs. Nothing fun so far, but I guess that's all part of the process.

I wouldn't call my state of mind depression, just seriously thinking about my future. I've always been pretty solid about managing my activities so I don't think I'm stretched too thin.

My schedule has gotten pretty stagnant, so I'm going to swap out a couple old activities for new ones. Variety is the spice of life I guess. I'm finishing up with Boy Scouts (I take my Eagle Scout board of review in a few weeks) so that'll free up some time as I've been pretty active with that.

I dunno man the more things you try and find you don't have an interest in, the more things you tick off your list as "been there done that" and all of these experiences will point you towards something and make it "worth it". You been in the Boy Scouts? I never tried it, sounds interesting. You played musical instruments? Amazing, I never have tried and I have yet to make the time (or mentally grasp an instrument as I know I'd end up pouring a lot of energy into it, probably something I'll do when I quit comp TF2). You have done a lot of things at such a young age, I'd say you will look back at all of this and be more passionate and able to share your experiences elsewhere.
I tell you one thing though, if you're in school you're probably not working and when you start working you really start to pick up more life experience when you learn new skills and meet new people who have vast knowledge and specific skills and you can pick so much up by just listening. And also with money comes financial freedom meaning if you earn say I dunno, even a basic wage of 200 dollars a week you suddenly have options open up to you - You can move out, go on holiday, save to travel, go places originally out of your spectrum, buy a car and do all sorts of crazy shit (you may be limited to just the one thing you can do but start saving money and in later life you'll find you can do it).
My guess is School life and your general age and lack of freedom restricts you from doing something, I got that feeling certainly though I just fucked around in school and hung with my mates, didn't touch games hardcore until I was in college.
Also meeting the right person (romantically or for friendship) can really impact your motivations in life. One day you could be plodding along wanting to get a basic job to fund your lifestyle of gaming and paying your parents rent - meet a girl who is special and next thing you know, you want to be earning 30k a year to buy a BMW, pay for a mortgage, have kids, get married and all that goes with it.
In time you will get there, in time...

I'm not saying you are depressed, but keep an eagle eye on your sleep schedule, eating habits, and overall mood. It can really sneak up on you if you aren't careful.

I don't personally do it but I've read lots of stories of how parkour has turned people's lives around who were previously depressed/unsatisfied/etc. Here's a good resource: http://americanparkour.com/getting-started/
