yukon and gpit need their way into s18. i've heard a lot of people hate on granary lately, including myself, and would be great if we could go back to 6 cp weeks and 2 non-cp weeks

Man, imagine if you could play TWO different maps in ONE week

I think the idea for two matches a week was so that you could prioritize learning strategy for one map and then have it come to fruition more than once, two different maps in the same week would be a clusterfuck

maybe they should add trains to sunshine last so you don't have to wait for them to push out first
more trains is obviously what mapmakers should be focusing on

I thought yukon's mid was fun that one time I played it in a pug 2 years ago.

Played yukon in a pub today (i know) seems like a good map, few things could be changed, but i cant see it being too hard to get a cp_yukon_pro variation to be a top tier map. Its so close to being great, would be amazing to replace metalworks with.

It is not a clusterfuck in Europe :p

Yeah I'd love to get randomly ran over or completely blocked from pushing in/out by a train, what a great map.
Like I don't get it. We all hate random crits and shit like that right? What makes random environmental hazards like fucking trains actually appealing? I'm really curious here.

I mean I could suggest that ESEA adds ctf_frogger, my map where there's 7 trains running in between bases... Bonus points if they use the old one where the trains broke and come at you sideways

Huh, I would have figured someone would have linked Dummy's rollout on Yukon in this thread.
I personally would be interested in watching some more modern games on Yukon. See how people would approach the map now and whatnot. It's been a long time since I've seen Yukon played competitively in any format.

I really wish we had a dedicated map maker (or more than one would work) that fixed a lot of older maps. So much lost potential.

I think there's this attitude among mappers where you have to have the original creator's permission to change their map
And the maker of yukon is mia
Source: haven't touched hammer but teammate loved to rant about mapping

Like maybe in CS because brute was a dick about toscan, but in tf2 I don't think anyone will really be upset if someone updates their map.

Since Freight was mentioned already, I should mention that Fishbus was previously working on a new version of that map with a completely reworked last point and tweaks to second. I'm not sure if he abandoned it or what, but it was being tested.

Honestly a few changes to make the chokes less awful would make the map great. I remember playing it in a pug and it was very fun unless we stalemated it out on last.

Cool. I'm pretty excited to see how teams play the map now that the metagame has changed so much since it was last in the rotation.
