In order to get internet access, do we need to bring a wireless router for our pc, or will we be able to connect via ethernet. If we can use ethernet, how long should our cable be?
aiight my ride is unsure if hes going or not so if any gamers not planning on being there on that friday really early and can give me a ride around 2:20pm+

Any self respecting lan is on ethernet. Usually a 6 foot cable is long enough.

looking for somebody from nyc to let me bum off their ride if my initial option actually doesn't have enough space in his car, can probably pay for gas/food
That's a good question. Having never been to LAN, do people need to bring an Ethernet cable with their computers? And what's a good length if yes?

It's good practice to bring your own cable that's a decent length (10ft maybe) depending on where the switches are. Most LANs will provide you the cables but you never know.
GXL's facebook page has provided an informative video on this matter:

Good luck getting the refund. I've requested three times for a refund the past two months and they haven't done anything.

We are incredibly low on seats. This will almost certainly be the final line of tickets, which will probably run out tonight or tomorrow. Buy your tickets now. I also believe the price for these final tickets are $55. Do not wait, because I'm not making any kind of exceptions for anyone.
Alright guys, I took a leap of faith and am paid up. If anyone, *anyone* could give me a ride there let me know. Even if you have to make a bit of a detour, I can try and pay for the extra gas money required. Otherwise I'll have to book a rather expensive flight, and I'd rather not take my PC on a plane after all the horror stories I've heard.
Also, in the event that I do fly out there, is it possible for a resident of PA to give me a ride to the hotel? Thanks again in advance to anyone helping out. Feel free to message me here, or add me on steam!

Post where you live, bro. No one knows where you're located.

Ah, my apologies. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I'm in Missouri, but I should be a little more specific. I live in Parkville, Missouri, which is right on the northwest border between Kansas and Missouri.

What percentage of the event is going to be tf2 players?

There are right around 170 players on the official list. A few are staff/production, so lets figure around 160 players, that doesn't factor in players who are going for tf2 that haven't posted here. I know at least 1 full team not on this list of retired/casual players. Probes ly around 175 players or more in guessing.

Hey man, we (I and a family member) have purchased two tickets. You're welcome to add me to the list on the first page. There's no sense adding the other person since nobody knows who he is.
I'm paid and registered, please add me to the list. Moy and I want to join/make a team so contact one of us if you need players or a team.

Please take me off the list of people who need a carpool.
We have a big SUV that's going to be starting from Indiana. We have three people so far but we'd like to get a fourth if possible since this vehicle won't be exactly light on gas. Please take a look at the route I'm about to link and if someone needs a ride that's approximately on the route add me and we'll talk.

uh so since i've never been to a byoc lan before and am bringing a laptop, should i buy a laptop lock or something like that or is the venue going to be pretty safe to wander around while leaving my stuff around
i'm probably going to wander around a lot, but i feel like it'd be a pain if i have to pack/unpack all my stuff every time i want to go somewhere
