its in game settings, on the right you select your model which changes obviously your character model but also your avatar and the sounds your character makes when you take damage or jump

you gotta get a few friends stacked on the same team in CA and run the hmg+nades+plasma only strat.

Just an fyi there's software available that will let you basically alt+tab out of the game
www.idcation.com it's called minimizor 2.0
note i haven't tested it yet but it's been updated quite a few times so fingers crossed it still works
Edit:nope hasn't been updated in two years. I hope id hasn't broken it in the meantime :/

I can't play FFA anymore, it's ridiculous
CTF still functions, although barely
CA is good since it's unchanged, going to keep coming back for it

Is it possible to play this with CPMA physics and stuff? And if it is possible, do many people do it?
PQL movement along with "classic" pre-change QL are all premium/pro exclusive content, I'm pretty sure.
If you have a friend who has pro he can invite you to the game.

My first FPS was Quake II, I installed this yesterday and am having a blast. A question for the more experienced/knowledgeable: I feel like weapon switching can be horribly slow, i.e. I have the Railgun out, fire a shot and hit the key I have bound to RL. It's literally taking 1-2 seconds before my RL comes up and this timing seems varied (usually getting me fragged before I can fire another weapon). Some weapons seem to switch faster than others. Can someone explain if this is part of the game or am I missing a setting or is my computer just being a potato?
converting tf2 sensitivity to the quake one, there´s nothing to change right ? even the value remains the same right ? since it uses the same yaw and shit ? or am i missing anything ?
OK, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. Thanks!

Sensitivity in TF2 and QL are the same. If it feels different with the same value, it's one of two things:
1.) Accel is handled differently in Quake/TF2. TF2 accel is FPS based (unless they've changed something, I haven't used accel in over a year) so TF2 accel = Quake accel x CURRENT FPS / 1000.
2.) More than likely, the FOV is probably throwing you off. The maximum FOV (and the FOV you should be using) for TF2 is 90. QL starts you off with a default FOV of 100 and this value can be raised as high as 130. While your sensitivity is technically the same, it might feel slower because you're using a higher FOV.

For some elaboration, you can't switch weapons during a weapon's reload time.

Public duel servers are under classic, but not PQL. The only changes that happened to them in the 8/27 update were the LG damage change and the addition of damage numbers.

This makes more sense now, thank you for the clarification.

TF2 has 3 different types of accel implementation, one of which is FPS based. Sadly, it's also really the only one worth using because it's closest in terms of customisability to QL accel.
If you're an accel lover and want consistent mouse-feel over all your games I highly recommend povohat's brilliant QL mouse driver for Windows.

does anyone know what the damage text command is in QL? QL forums are down atm so i cant search there
Devondoes anyone know what the damage text command is in QL? QL forums are down atm so i cant search there
I forget the command but it's in the options. It gives you the option to do all damage, AoE damage, or no text at all. I think AoE damage text is very useful to keep on.
