Any decent sata 3 drives (non-ssd)

So today, one of my drives with 661GB of data on it decided to start clicking and die. I'm looking for a new drive that has:

1) At least 750GB of space
2) 7200rpm
3) Sata II or sata III
4) Is reliable (my drive died after 1.5 years of use)
5) Costs under $150
6) 3.5"
7) At least a 32MB buffer

I'm terrible at picking out drives because apparently my drive had issues with dying randomly anyways.

If I'm not mistaken HDD's don't fully saturate SATA II so they don't get any speed boost from SATA III. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If it's not a SSD, no reason to get SATA III. HD speeds never hit the SATA II cap.

Well I don't see the point of getting a sata II drive anymore when the prices are roughly the same as far as I've checked (not very far).

It shouldn't be a criteria. If you're getting a HDD, SATA # should never matter (I don't believe you can get a SATA I drive with over 750GB anyways).

If you want to get a better HDD I'd go with Western Digital. I've had fantastic luck with them.

Samsung Spinpoint F# whatever they're at by now. I have a 7.2k rpm Samsung Spinpoint F3, boots windows 7 in 20 seconds.

Haven't strayed away from WD.

I got a WD 1TB green drive because it was cheaper than anything else out at the time

gets hot as fuck beware. supposedly isnt an issue with all of them and I've used it for 6mo now without it dying but the heat is still rediculous

Picked up the WD 2TB Black. It was a little on the expensive side ($200 after tax), but it's a great drive from what I've seen. Hopefully it doesn't fail lol.
