I feel dumb for asking so late, but if you can give me a ride from the airport on Thursday night, and/or a ride to the airport on Monday let me know, I will definitely cover you in some way.

dashnerWhich is also a fun time to remind everyone that you should probably have everything you need for this LAN downloaded to your PC or on removable storage so you won't be running into any issues with slow download.
On this topic, does anyone who frequents LANs have a checklist of some sorts? Both hardware and things such as configs. I'd rather not forget anything I might need just because I didn't realise I need it.

I used to go to LANs a lot at my friend's houses over weekends and stuff. For hardware at least, unplug all of your stuff, bring it to a clean area away from your desk, plug it all in, and do all the stuff you'd do at lan. If it works, you probably have everything.

Luckily GXL's facebook page has a helpful video for this too: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152317731928479

is there gonna be any casual SF going on at GXL?
im bad but im wondering if i should bring my stick along
I'd love to play. There are a handful of TF2 players that play SF4, so games will surely happen. I don't know how much time I'll have to play, but I'll definitely try to make a little bit of free time on my schedule to do some Viper frame traps. :D
I'll money-match if someone wants to make things interesting.
What about Mahvel?
I'm still considering if I should pack my stick.

Two things:
1) Tickets are sold out. I wanna say that tickets probably won't be available again, not even spectator tickets.
2) The deadline to send in a refund request ended at 11:59 PM yesterday (9/25). If you sent in your refund request before this time, but still have yet to receive your refund, then you'll be fine. If you need any help pushing the refund request through if you've sent it in a while ago, just private message me on here.

btw, I'll be making a big information post about last second things that people need to be aware of (or perhaps things that were posted weeks ago but might have missed a few people).

I honestly don't have a set team as I change my stuff around constantly, but I'm loosely floating in the world of Nova/Doom/Vergil.
Your team is also fun to play as.

I am driving. I will be driving from Halifax Airport to somewhere near Portland Maine on Wednesday the 8th, and then the rest of the way on Thursday. If anyone is looking for a ride or to be picked up from the airport, I have a 4 door vehicle and can probably manage 2 people depending on how much stuff you have.
After that, and this is tentative and will depend on our setup schedule and whatnot for casting/interviews, but I wouldn't be opposed to swinging out to the airport to grab people on Friday if anyone is coming that day. I imagine some folks may be coming Friday afternoon/evening. If you're interested let me know, and I'll figure out this evening if it's doable.
Please send me a message on TFTV with details on where you are, when you're coming, how much you have with you so I can keep it all straight, and I'll try to accommodate whoever I can. The only person I've officially offered a ride to so far is rays, but I don't think he's coming so that's a wash. This will basically be a first-come/first served basis, or whatever I can manage.

Other than the obvious things like a mouse and keyboard (don't be that guy who forgets his keyboard), here's a list of stuff you should remember:
[*]Ethernet cable
[*] Windows install disc (Useful if your/a buddy's computer blows up)
[*] Flash Drive
[*] ALL OF YOUR DRIVERS on said flash drive! Most lans don't have good internet, if they have any at all. In the case that your windows install does blow up, it's good to have your important drivers on a flash drive, because you can't always download them.
[*] tf2/other games cfg on flash drive
[*] Extra dvi cables. I've had a friend of mine's monitor cable die at lan. Bring extra's if you have them.
[*] If you have an ssd that doesn't have anything important on it for the lan, it might be a good idea to remove it. Although theft usually isn't a problem at lans, there are shitty people in this world, and an ssd is really easy to grab.
[*] If you have a big external hard drives/extra hard drives, it's a good idea to have steam backups of tf2, because lan download speeds are terrible.
[*] Pillow for your ass. Lan seats aren't that amazing.
[*] In general, if you have extras of things, bring them. Never know what's going to break, and ruin your weekend.
[*] If you're under 18 I think the even requires a waver signed by a parent.
If I think of more stuff I'll add it, and I see now that Fragile is making a big list too, so that will probably be more complete.

I have room for one more in my car, coming from Indianapolis straight to the LAN along the i70 corridor. If you are along this route hit me up please! We will be leaving Indy at about 7am, so figure out timing if you like.
Hi team, I have a mobile phone question.
After speaking to my phone provider here in Canadaland, they have informed me it would be cheaper to unlock my phone and buy a pay as you go SIM card from any of the big providers in the states, my only concern is if I can make calls to Canada with that temp SIM card, and if I/my family will incur a large fee on their bills.

The only bill you'd probably see on your home cell provider would probably be the unlocking(I dunno if they will charge you--you should probably check with you provider.) And then international calls depend the prepaid/pay as you go sim card's plan.

Can I put on the list as LFT Medic? I don't have any active 6s experience.
People also don't forget a mouse pad!!!! Do NOT wanna be using a piece of cardboard! 8)
Hey nick, now that GXL is sold out can we get a final count of TF2 players vs CS players? Just curious to see the turnout for each... If that's possible.

I don't know. I think some of the CS players waited a little too long for signups, so I think there won't be as many teams this year as normal for CS. That's about the best answer I can give you, because the amount of time it would take for me to give you real statistics would be time better spent on something else GXL related.
I'm pretty certain there will be more TF2 players.

I'll play you in Skullgirls. I haven't played it much though, so I play an okay Parasoul with about the knowledge of one combo.

What I meant was that I play Highlander more than I play 6s, and I'm not currently rostering for 6s. I'm not sure if I have a team yet, and I'd like to play when I'm there.

Ok last plea for help: Would anybody be willing (and sober enough) to drive me to the Greyhound station in Philly from GXL on Sunday? I need to be at the station at 7:30am, so we'd need to leave around 6:30am Sunday morning.
