i wish we had casters that actually played this game

its ok reading the killfeed and saying what happened on the screen 20 seconds after is casting now
I'm glad I can read a killfeed, because that combined with having a deep voice at least makes me seem like I can cast
I'm not a huge fan of getawhale's casting either but I wouldn't go that far. I think the problem here was that both caster's don't/haven't played the game at a high enough level to understand what is going on at most times and just get caught by surprise with most plays.
The solution would be to have each of them paired with another more analytically capable caster who has knowledge and experience to fall back on rather than just pure play-by-play.

Exactly.
Exactly.
u guys r retarded getawhale is fine. this game is dead you cant be picky about casters.
It's ok if someone has a different casting style to another caster and it's also ok if you don't like that person's casting style. What's not ok is calling them shit and saying they shouldn't even try.
If you think a caster could improve then give constructive feedback, tell them what you don't like about their casting style.

These casters aren't very great and have a lot to learn about the game and how to cast it before they're really good, but they're volunteering their time (and money for travel/lan tickets/room) to bring YOU coverage so maybe show a little appreciation guys like shit. Thanks for the hard work getawhale and gecks, it can be a thankless job but I'm just happy that there's people around to cover this great event.
dingoid rather have no caster than getawhale
Thanks for watching! Our original casters were Bloodsire and cbear, but neither of them are at this event. My original role, as you can see on the old original GXL thread, was to do interviews and hosting, maybe a bit of casting.
I may not be an Invite Player but I am confident in my hosting and interviewing skills. I am happy that gecks, me and others have been able to fill in to put on this show for everyone. Sorry you couldn't make it yourself.

flatline
also there's like a hair or something on the bottom left of the screen
I don't know if this has been answered in stream chat or anything but did we figure out what was with the hair looking thing? It's been on the pre-recorded videos as well as the matches the whole time...

Dashner is aware of the issue, bit distracted by the game at the moment.

Also, just a thought since we don't have an official word on the colour correction issues. At i52 people complained about a similar issue that we were fairly sure was due to having a separate PC running TF2, with its output being sent towards the production PC. The capture card in the production PC was causing both the colour issues and the tearing issues. It's possible something similar is happening here, but I'm not at the event and haven't heard any official word so this is just an educated guess.
Why are you bitching about the casters so much, I just don't understand like they really are trying thier ass of to put this stuff up and it must suck to just hear all the negative stuff here. If you have such a big problem with the casting stand up and do it your self to show it up,but nobody has to do it and it's just a great thing to have this stream instead of nothing and the cast is enjoyable just from what I've seen of the geeks and fragile cast.
It's just frustrating to see because almost all these new casters like getawhw le get so much shit when they're just new guys trying and it's a wonder that people even wanna try at all with such a negative stigma put on non invite casters.

Lennonf you have such a big problem with the casting stand up and do it your self to show it up
While I do agree wholeheartedly, anyone who thinks they could do a better job casting/streaming should try it before they talk shit (and please do, we could always use more streamers/casters), there is a valid counter argument in that you don't need to be skilled at something to point out when something is unskilled. For example, I doubt most Music/Film/Food critics are expert musicians, directors or chefs. Similarly, someone who doesn't cast can recognise that a caster has issues to work out. Again though, you really should try it before you talk shit.
