rowrowFlorida LAN was hyped up for 3 months, the stream never broke 20 viewers.
idk a solution
i live in orlando and i never even heard about it until like 3 days before when someone randomly told me. i think the hype man for that event may have been slacking a bit

BenkThere's a reason our biggest TF2 lans are held in New England.

That said, if another lan like GXL happens anywhere in NA I will be there. Looking forward to FITES in a few months and gxl next year.
I think the Chicago-Indy-Cincy area would be a good compromise. Not so far out of the way for people on the west coast, but close enough to the bulk of the population. Apparently 65% of the country lives within one day of Indy (according to the city's website).

also i think it would be good to make the event somewhere central this time although my plane ticket was pretty cheap for philly from florida
kirbyDon't come to Indy. You'll drown in corn.
Hey, corn's delicious.

I'd totally go to Vegas for a TF2 LAN.

Well, there is this coming to Columbus, Ohio. While it's MLG, at least it's something for Ohio.

dashnerCJ-FITES should be awesome, although it is a max 250 person lan. Definitely a different experience from GXL.
Pretty much this. FITES was a great experience but it's not intended to be a gigantic competitive LAN like GXL was. If you're trying to hit something out of the park this winter in terms of size, you should be looking at ETS.
Not to mention Montreal is a much more unique city to visit relative to another trip to outer Philadelphia.
Apparently ETS doesn't like us though due to past issues. That might be a problem.

ETS tickets sell quick enough that we'd have to group pre-purchase a massive block of tickets before they even open registration... I had an amazing time there the two times I went and would love to co-ordinate going again sometime.

Yeah, when you're eating it. Not when you're being eaten by it.

Now I am wondering if you need a passport for US to Canada travel. I was only 19ish the last time I went to Canada and all 5 people in the car did not have passports, even though they were required. Is it more enforced now?

The law was changed in 2009 to require all Americans (over the age of 16) to have a passport in order to enter Canada

Good to know. I remember that we had no problem getting into Canada, at all. On the way back, our Mexican looking friend was the only one that was questioned a little bit more. I guess I am going to actually get a passport.
I wonder why they changed it so you need a passport to cross. I'll prob go to a Toronto lan.

lanfest sacramento wouldve had a great turn out, but all the seats got taken
need los angeles or bay area gaming events

Going to speak to the guys who run the gaming club at my college, one of the rules is at the end of a year they have to run an event. Gonna ask them to see if I can help them organize a TF2 event at the end of year event. This can service Toronto/Brampton/Mississauga area gamers, probably wont be too big, but it would be cool to get even a small one going.
I'll prolly try to go to FITES again. Was fun last time (but no more medic please). I'll make sure not to get a seat thats completely covered by a switch this time so I can use my actual control preferences!
I'd like to see one in Kansas City or Denver, maybe Chicago.
would love to go to a socal lan, not much here outside of the sacramento lanfest (which is full now).
plinkoLast I heard, the Atlanta LANfest had stopped supporting TF2, is there anything in the Southeastern US that does?
its not like the atlanta lanfest stopped supporting tf2 to spite it
there were multiple lans in a row with 20+ no-shows of tf2 players so it stopped being worth their time
if you guys actually showed up theyd be happy to have prizes/trophies/etc and make it a featured game

Pretty sad I missed GXL but I'll be at FITES in March, hope to see some of you out there! I'll try not to be super fucking wasted/mega ultra hungover this time.
seems to be an oft happening thing of people voting for TF2 and never planning to go/not showing up and LANs getting upset about it.
IU LAN War tickets are available now if you're an IU student. Friday if you're not. If you're near this, go. http://teamfortress.tv/thread/20416/iu-lan-war-27
