On the official ESEA post, they said they are adding more servers. Is that TF2 also or just CSGO?

I have a very strong opinion when it comes to the map rotation.
While I don't think that any maps in the current rotation show any glaring flaws, I do think a lot of better maps have been passed on or looked over, or even some maps deserve a 2nd chance (unpopular opinion, cp_warmfront, Yukon, follower, freight with some revisions)
That's not specifically the issue, as I stated before I don't think the maps in the rotation are bad at all. My issue with the map rotation now without cp gravelpit has made having a different gamemode in the rotation seem counter intuitive for a couple of reasons. For one, I think that if 85% of the maps played are 5cp (bad math whatever) then all the maps should be 5 cp, just randomly throwing in 1 koth map a season just seems redundant (like having some unusual extra part or feature) why have teams practice the gameplay of 5 cp all season to have it randomly thrown off for 1 week to play, in my opinion, a completely different game. Not to mention the teams extremely good at koth, maybe better then they are at cp5, only get that 1 week a season to have a chance to play a mode they thrive in.
Now, this is not to say I think viaduct is a bad map, I think it's a great map, but would it not make sense to replace the less popular cp maps with koth maps so that our time spent practice koth and not cp does not seem so wasted or even random? There are great koth maps out there if you take a chance to look or even play test some.
Just a personal opinion, maps id like to see In the rotation are Yukon, coalplant and possibly sandstone

This kind of goes along with the new servers for tf2 post mentioned above, but I know many people also have this issue, I experience 100-130 ping to Dallas (I should be getting around 70ms).
One of my teammates also gets 100-130ms to Chicago as well, making it very difficult to play without someone at a major disadvantage.
Is it possible to address the routing issues to the servers for this upcoming season?

alfaI just hope we can get one more row of PC's at LAN, having 3 row's for 4 teams is a bit annoying
TY KILLING
8 CS teams
4 TF2 teams
11 rows of PCs
??? xD

i liked coalplant way more than i like metalworks or snakewater which are super boring maps imo
8 weeks of Badlands? It's the least controversial map...
I'd like to see Logjam get played in NA. I'm not certain if it's quite ready yet but with registration ending in just over a month a lot of changes can happen.
I'm all for more KOTH maps being put in the rotation but honestly there really are almost none in development that seem to have potential. Sandstone seems interesting and I was really hoping for Canopy but after a bit of testing it was shown that the transition from spawn->point would need to be redone and that seemed to kill development. Speaking of development, I was hoping to see a new version of Metalworks soonish, it's been rc5 for some time now and the other two main custom maps have gotten updates or have one planned soon. I think that Coalplant could be a better map if it was given more feedback but honestly the same exact thing could be said about every map in development. Logjam currently seems to be the only map really getting large amounts of playtime and feedback so I hope that it might see some time in the US scene soonish.
I haven't seen it being talked about much, but koth_sandstone is probably one of the best new options out there if we want another koth map. (Wasn't really a coalplant fan, too open)
I think some of these maps, especially the old ones people are trying to bring back should probably get a one day tourney type thing before we just toss them in, like how the EU scene does it sometimes.

I actually loved coalplant. IDK why it was voted out.
Granary out, Coalplant in would be totally fine by me.
Yukon still has a shitty last and as much as I love gpit, having 1 a/d and 1 koth would make the problem lucrative stated even worse. And there are no other good a/d maps (because nobody lives edifice T_T)

p sure main reason coalplant was voted out is because it took approximately 8 years to cap the point
I think that was fixed in the next version but it soured a lot of people on the map.
I didn't like the map design at all so I'm cool with not putting it back in
Viaduct is enough koth for me

sorry but that map isn't good at all, shitty choke points for days and sloppy transitions. last point is a joke and the 2nd cap point is obnoxious in every way possible. mid is the only redeeming quality but thats not even saying much since thats the case with most maps

can we change to the eu format this season ? switch it up ?
People say the EU format promotes less stalemates but I don't see it. I feel like if you go up a quick 3 rounds in EU you would never need to push anything and there would b no half time to break it up.

I didnt feel that way at all when we used the EU ruleset at GXL. With a lead you don't want to give the other team a chance to take the momentum back, so you may use some safer pushes, but just parking the bus honestly doesnt happen that much. Even if the leading team does try to slow the game down, the other team has incentive to try more radical pushes and there are more interesting fights.
I would prefer a halftime (20 minute halves, maybe) but the win difference is miles better than the win limit we use in NA.

i just like knowing how long my games are going to last, always.
it makes scheduling easier, makes scrimming easier, makes life easier.

The one part of the EU ruleset that I like is that around the 6:00 mark in, you're actually factoring in time pressure. If you're up 3-1 with 6:00 to play, then you intentionally slow down play as a way to chew up clock and see the game through.
The problem is that it encourages risk averse play from one of the teams. In an even game, there is no pressure to turn a late 3-2 lead into 5-2 (and subsequently risk a comeback loss) - you will instead typically play off of the counter and nurse the small lead.

I don't know how many people would really consider this during a match, but as the season goes on, RF and RA could go a long way to determining who's in and who's out of playoffs. It'd always be important for teams to put up a good effort regardless of the match outcome for seeding purposes.

I made a post regarding the ruleset differences back in July, and I'd definitely be down to experiment with the Euro ruleset for a season. After having played both I definitely enjoyed the Euro ruleset more as it lead to more intense and enjoyable games.

Idk how long this has been the case but it basically makes Chicago unplayable for the majority of my team (100+ms, choke/loss) as well. I'm also routed terribly to Colorado (I ping 30 to "normal" Colorado servers, and about 80 to ESEA Colorado). which basically only leaves Dallas as an option which is really shitty for Canadians.
this is pretty much the single most frustrating aspect of competitive TF2 is that every league has awful servers. even CEVO when they let u use their own servers was really bad. you're basically playing a completely different game from scrims because everyone's just warping constantly
I remember one uber push on process last we popped uber in rollout and our combo literally rubberbanded two seconds back into the hallway and completely wasted it lmao

+1 for shitty routed servers
why do all ESEA servers have +10-30 ping compared to non-ESEA servers in the same location????
