Let the lack of preparation serve as a fair warning to the future, is what I think should be the course of action taken. If people repeat the same mistake once it's been made extremely clear that their actions of laziness and doing everything last minute will not be tolerated, then serve punishment next season -- again, a fair warning to the future.

What I had (unnecessarily, and unthinkingly) made another post for originally:
At the very least I think if ESEA comes to a decision to merge IM and Invite rather than using the current situation as a warning for future seasons, I think a plan to promote 3 divisions (I, IM, O) and LAN again should be in place for the season following.

I don't know on the other hand we'll have 30+ Open teams and at least 10 IM teams with 5/6 paid while the holiday season was/is in full session. I'd say that bodes well for how many teams will actually be playing.

There are IM teams that are still finalizing player decisions.
It would help if those IM teams at least partially pay up so I can count them in for the next season. Not paying for any players but promising to do so isn't really something I can take to my boss.

We're looking for at least 16-18 but probably more.

IM has to be able to sustain itself. I cannot manually move up teams every single season.

I think that this season in particular, what with the moving LAN and the holidays and stuff, deserves some leniency. I'm sure that ESEA will become more sustainable, now that CEVO is dead and ESEA once again has a monopoly on high level North American TF2.

It's also a factor to consider how many IM teams will die because they don't want to get fucked by froyotech, and how many Invite teams will get bored because of the lack of competition after shitting on open moveups for half a season.

The hijack wasn't really possible due to us needing players from blockback. On another note Killing, If you would be willing to move up all open playoff teams from last season to IM, My team can go to the luca goers roster. Also ive heard that Pinoy boys is also willing to do this. That would make another 2 IM teams and maybe more.

if we have to axe a division for tf2 why don't we just go back to what we used to have where it was just open/invite instead of having just open/im - the im teams that are "good" are going to be in invite anyways with the current state of things so it's not like it would be that unbalanced of an open division. upper open/lower half of im have always been pretty much the same anyways.

I can't believe that esea is considering removing an invite division when there are tons of teams with intent to play this season, why is it such an issue that these teams are "fully paid" before the registration that was laid out for them isn't even over yet, most of these teams are half paid and CLEARLY intending to play this season. I mean this all honestly just seems like ESEA trying to find an excuse to cut out tf2 and I dont know why.
