Rikachuloose cannon is incredible though

disagree. one or two times a game it will be incredible but if you can aim pipes, default pipes are far superior, especially with stickies being worse.

MaxHaxI do feel like demo is much less a great target to focus on pushes and whatnot. Like picking the demo doesn't feel as important. Playing demo in pugs at least, I felt as though I needed to be closer to the fight to be impactful, but not as safe and more likely to die. He definitely doesn't feel like a class that needs to limited to 1 any more. I mean pipes still hit hard, and stickies on the ground I've seen still do 115+ in the right situations. Also, I'm not advocating for him being at 2, just saying how less important he is now.

He's limited to 1 because of traps, not spam. That hasn't been changed.

If valve wants to make demo more skillful they should definitely remove the RNG elements of the class (projectile path variance). the nerf sucks but it seems like this nerf is gonna stick, and since its valve i wouldnt hold my breath waiting for this to change. may as well accept it and adapt play style's accordingly

MoyI don't understand what's so bad about the nerf. I still do around the same amount of damage and, ultimately, the demo is still strong. Demos can still completely trap/spam off huge areas of the map, and stickies aren't that hard to do damage with if you just try to refine your aim with the projectiles.
It's a good way to cater to the pub community whiners about stickies, as well as catering to the comp players by requiring better aim.
Anyway, even if the nerf makes the game more pocket-centric, what's wrong with that? Might as well change the game's meta so that we get a little variety every once and a while.

ok i'm not really smart or anything but let me do some googling. the average response time for the average human is 25 milliseconds for a visual stimuli and the sticky itself arms in .7 seconds. Scouts move at 400 hammer units/second. the scout moves 3 times the radius and soldiers move twice the distance in 1 second, meaning if you're shooting at someone you're only really going to hit 1 out of every two stickies in the best of situations and stickies got nerfed so they only do like what 115 if they're right under you? honestly the class is just as broken as it was the last update only now we're chalking it up to demomen being bad.

also since the nerf the radius of a sticky is only as large as a rocket so trying to shoot them at the floor is a little pointless as well. .7 second arm time and scouts move 2.5 times that in a second. soldier only like 1.5. not as ridiculous as an air-det sticky but still notable.

youre not factoring ping NOR are you factoring in the actual time it takes to press a key after realizing whats happening on screen.

with all those factors humans peak out at around 160ms response time for visual stimuli (as many "reaction time tests" have shown)

It's not like any of these posts will convince the TF2 team that their decision was unnecessary. Unless the TF2 team is bipolar as fuck, I don't see stickies being "normal" again. All of you demo mains will get used to it and develop new ways of playing (possibly) in order to compensate. But I main scout and not demo, so what do I know, I guess.

having only played snakewater and process games since the nerf and renerf with falloff, I haven't had much else to gauge on its impact. I will definitely feel it come viaduct, and have more on its impact that I've seen following then, but for now the biggest thing is just being easier to bum-rush with little consequence.

Adapting may mean playing hella passive, and I feel like the trade-off of high aggression and damage punished by getting rushed while low on clip size is better than being able to land 2 stickies on a scout and still get killed.

I piped a scout on snakewater second, he grabbed the pack near point and I placed a great sticky while he rushed me that hit for 87 damage, and he lived on 1 health and got the kill while semi-airborne

u do realize the goal of the nerf was to lower demoman's damage out put right?

good job proving that valve accomplished what they wanted, but u kind of forgot the part where u menetiond that it ruind the game
