Hmm... weird, what are you using to copy it? WinRAR, 7-zip, standard Windows .zip manager?

I'm not really sure to be honest, I clicked download zip and then I just moved the files over to tf/custom, I tried the tf/custom/my_custom_stuff sub aswell so it would scan it as well and no results

You need to open the .zip file and choose the version you want to use, red or blue, then copy it to tf/custom and it should work

Not to be rude but I'll repeat that I'll take screenshots of this, I choose blue and I checked every folder before I copied it, brought it over to tf/custom, nothing was brought over inside of the folder.

I used 7-zip and I extracted everything, its in tf/custom and I start it up, I still have the standard menu and everything

Charge meter for the BFB seems to bugged when the meter is full (slightly cut off at 100%).
I don't know if it's a hud or tf2 bug as I did not test it with the default hud.

That's always happened with the BFB (it's on valve's end).

My loadout screen seems to cut off cosmetics and things are just a bit out of place. Know any fixes? I Play on 800x600 4:3

Resolution issue, i think. Just install the Default Loadout Layout from the customization folder.

Yeah, a lot of things are gonna be broken on 800x600, but the new resolution screen is broken on all 4:3 (simply not enough screen room to really make it).

I've been trying to change the killstreak icon of the hud I saw "image" "../hud/misc_ammo_area_blue"
in the HudItemEffectMeter_KillStreak.res so I put a vtf called "misc_ammo_area_blue" in here "tf\custom\flathudRED\resource\materials\hud" but the killstreak icon didn't change, i also tried to change put it in here "\tf\custom\flathudRED\materials\hud" and yet it still didnt work. Where and how can I change it?

What do you mean "the killstreak icon"? You mean the > thing that appears in killfeeds?

That's not an image, and your hud is outdated.
Well, it is, but that's not what it uses (I disabled it and created a separate imagepanel that just uses those materials for its colors).

I recently updated to the update in 535, and now my damage numbers are yellow (both on the player and health). You didn't mention it, so I don't know if it's intended or a bug. If it means anything, I recently updated my config to have damage number batching.

I think I decided to change the default color from the (frankly hard to see) blue to an easily visible yellow in the newest patch. You can always change it in clientscheme.

This is probably something really dumb on my end, but none of my tf2 custom stuff is working, including this. I downloaded the hud, chose the red one, and moved it into my custom folder (should there be another folder in that?), but nothing. tf2 plays normally, with no hud. Was there a steam update that changed this or something? I hate to bother with this, but it hasn't been working at all

HUDs do not go in specified custom folder name (i.e. my_custom). Be sure there is no other HUD in the same folder and put "flathudRED" (I'm assuming that's what you're choosing.) in file path above.

So I downloaded eve hud before this one and all of a sudden it's like ur hud and eve hud combined together is there any way to fix this?

Looks like you just have the mainmenuoverride.res from eve hud. Try grabbing the mainmenuoverride.res from the flathud file you downloaded and replace the one in your ui folder.

you can't have both flathud and eve in the /custom folder, move one out to another place

Looks like i wasn't very clear on this I deleted eve hud completely from my /custom folder and it's not just the main menu is the entire thing. The class selection the time, the leaderboard. And im also very confused on the replacing the file thing.

I fixed it turns out it was the default hud and the flat hud mixing together i just had to take out the resources from the default hud and paste them into mai desktop.

The timer appears to be bugged after playing a round of Arena. It's the normal position during Arena, but gets stuck every round until I close tf2.
