I'm getting these annoying floating numbers when healing nonbuffed people. I didnt have them before and they only appeared when healing with the xbow. I've always had hud_combattext_healing set to "1". Anyone?

Im calling it! Tf2 updates are bein done by some fucking retard who thinks mannpower mode is the next big thing. What the fuck, the whole point of airshots is lost. Soldier is a pretty useless class when everyone can grapple every fucking second. the grapple itself should be a powerup. Team coordination which was the reason i played tf2 is non existant. Balancing powerups is so pointless. No one cares when you can grapple around so freely. And also these powerups violate the basics of fps. So youre telling me that i am going to lose to some other guy just because he has a better powerup. What is this cod. Fair play and skill is what makes a good fps. Sure classes have counters and i should avoid those counters but if i come up against a class that im a counter to, i should be able to kill him regardless of his shitty powerup. Most of the time they dont do shit to even deserve that powerup. This is worser than nuking people with cod. Maybe i over exaggerated but for real, i would have preferred a new vsh map, or destroying robots thing to this. This is more like a hightower mod than an actual gamemode.

I would honestly love to see Mannpower with no grappling hook and no powerups (just quad), just to see how it would go.
That'll be about as close to quake ctf as we'll get. Maybe make the mannpower kritz be droppable like quad.

I think the logic behind the grappling hooks is if every class isnt in some way equally mobile it'll get played with only scouts and soldiers and demos again just because of the movement

And that makes quite a bit of sense, except that reduced mobility is a built-in downside to some of the beefier classes. If you allow all the classes to move at similar superspeeds when a big way that you previously balanced them was by using base movement speed nerfs, you're gonna have problems.

yeah but now soldiers/scouts/demos have multiple movement options which still puts them ahead of everyone else with 1.
its just now if youre playing ctf you can get to mid at a relatively acceptable speed with all classes regardless of built-in jumping abilities.
for example you can sticky jump/rocket jump and grapple to reduce/negate fall damage and do other wonky shit like that so I dont think it really "buffs" the classes as much as it gives them another element of movement.
grappling heavies are still heavies i guess is my point. plus itll be insane if theres some spy that grapples to walls and hangs on to fall into a batman style stab.
idk, i think its awesome, even if its not by normal terms "balanced"

Powerups have been in FPS games since forever, you're dumb. Mannpower may or may not be shit, but having powerups makes it less like CoD and more like FPS games from the 90s.
