flyingbuddyIf you're not sure to do 1v1 or 2v2 in mge, why not just do both :D
As much as I would love to do this, I don't want to get too ambitious with this first event. What I am thinking might work would be to run the MGE tournament as the first event while people show up for the 6v6 tournament, which I figure would be the main interest of people on here. So say we open the signups from 12pm-1pm then run the MGE tournament ASAP and have it all wrapped up before we start the 6v6 tournament, maybe at like 3pm. What do you guys think about that? My main concern is timeliness, as I have been involved in far too many disastrous tournaments that ended up taking way too long, and I know everyone's time is valuable.

Most definitely will attend, not in a team but as a spectator. So cool to see a lan held in the nearby area !

There might be decreased people in each on, for example, if it were 1v1 with 32 players there would be 16 first round games, if it were 2v2 with 32 players there'd be 8 first round games, but if there were 16 in the 1v1 and 16 in the 2v2 there'd only be 4 first round games, 2 second round games, and a final.

I don't remember a SoCal LAN since LANcryption so many years ago. Nice going.
I'll go if someone can give me a ride down to SoCal :D At the Bay Area

Of course. It's open to everyone, and we are all pretty friendly so don't feel intimidated. If you're looking for a team for the event, maybe start by making it known in this thread, but I am thinking about creating a form to help with team organization. Also, you still have over a month to start getting familiar with competitive TF2 before this event happens!
dashnerAny chance of a stream happening? I'm kind of in the mood for a mini vacation but I don't really have much interest in playing. If we have some casters and the Internet to run something, I might be down to fly out West.
The event will be streamed in some fashion. I'll update you guys.

I'd like to play, if anyone is looking for a decent med, I'm game.
LF a Roamer and two Scouts for my team, feel free to add me.
I might go and cheer people on, but add me if you really (really) need a medic!
