Any thoughts on this for TF2? At the very least we'd use their servers more often.
My thoughts are -- it wouldn't replace the match system, but maybe have it for scrims? Or PUGs even?

ESEA, bringing a whole new meaning to try-harding in scrims.

why would you not try hard in a scrim, what's the purpose of wasting a bunch of people's time for 30 minutes

Shit happens during scrims (people crash/dc) and people need to offclass for ringers and what not, not trying super hard because you won't be playing that class during matches, etc.

If a player on the other team dc'd and the other 5 guys started offclassing and dicking around, I wouldn't even bother continuing to play
I just hate the mentality people get that people who put out effort to get better at the game are annoying or naive

Because sometimes trying super hard in scrims is a waste of time and not fun. I'd rather not spend half of a scrim just standing around while the other team takes 15 minutes to get a pick to push last or something.
In my opinion, I'd rather try hard. Because I'd rather improve than not improve as a team.
I'd say PUGs could be used to be played not seriously. Instead of scrims.
That's just what I think, maybe it's cause my team isn't the best and wants to improve, none the less.
like it really takes effort to "try hard" in a video game
Is the point of scrims not to improve as a team? That's how I look at it. This is not to say I can't have fun in scrims and sometimes I might run crazy strats or try things that might not work, but in general, I prefer to use scrim time to get better. But I do have fun.
lol trekkie. That meme made me just crack up laughing.
Seems like a cool thing. If people wanted to use it for scrims. But then we would have no tf2 logs?! Someone would need to talk to Torbull/kalkin/killing or something to make sure they knew tf2 was interested in the system. But I dont see people wanting that over logs? Maybe I am wrong.
Frkn pretty much of hit the right idea. Scrims are times to try new things. At least for tf2.
