I genuinely think that having the awp slowed down while scoped ACTUALLY made me better at awping.
The increase in price for the silenced M4 only makes sense as you can murder anyone in a 1v1 easily with it and since it's also really good at long range. People will still buy it as the price increase is not that absurd, it's just that people will learn how to also use the A4 as well.
After playing with the new AWP, I can tell it just sucks holding certain angles with it, but for aggressive AWPing it's still fine as you can just scope in really fast and run away or change positions quickly with your pistol/knife out. Also the changes to Overpass are really good, map is much more fluid.

on the other hand, ur looking at losing like $5-1000 over the course of an entire game, so u might lose a few flashes or a pistol or smthng

Yeah after playing some with some a1 users it's not that big of a deal. It doesn't seem to interfere with any of the save round meta. I use the a4 and will continue to because I usually end up holding small sites and the spam power of the a4 is v good.
Overpass changes are seriously amazing. Hopefully they take a similar approach with nuke and continue to make minor changes while keeping the feel of the map intact. Overpass has become one of my favorite MM maps.

eee, if ur spray is really good and you don't go for headshots a lot stick with the m4 and don't throw it away. It fires faster than an AK.

I might be just stupid and forget stuff about this game, but was the movement also increased while having SSG 08 scoped in, even if you walk? I hadn't used AWP before SSG today but it felt way too fast, so I don't think it's that I would have gotten used to AWP movement being slow yet.
awp v rifle is not THAT different overall (I guess in certain situations like say moto corner to arch where you might be jiggle peeking so as not to get peeker's advantage'd it's nerfed but not that much overall), but the update really fucked t side awpers attempting to peek into other awpers
for instance, the window peek on mirage used to be relatively t sided because of the spawns, but now I can legit see it swinging the other way just cuz of that extra time before accuracy

this update just irks me because everyone has complained about the tec9 for so long, they finally nerf it and its pretty laughable. lower clip size (8 bullet difference?) same price and it still rapes...barely a difference from what it was before

you can crouch walk with scout while scoped in at full running speed.
with awp when you get a hostage you scope run faster, not to mention the shift walk acceleration boost.
its just not well thought out/broken

Worth mentioning that Guardian comfortably carried Navi to a win over fnatic on overpass and JW was able to do work with an awp today in their 3 matches as well.
I think people are being melodramatic about the awp change, the awp in go (prior to this change) despite having the same numerical stats as 1.6 played very differently when peeking because GO naturally favors the peeker

considering the change quite literally decreases the ceiling on how useful an awp can be when played perfectly it affects the top awpers as much as anyone, so ya i think its actually super relevant that top awpers are still able to carry in games and still buying awps despite next to no time to relearn the new awping style thats way less scope reliant.
and this is also a big nerf to ct whether you recognize it or not. T side awping is based around a couple things depending on how the team itself plays:
Mid Control (d2/inferno/mirage/cache boost) - and in that sense the only one of those i see impaired by this change is cache, and teams have been moving away from taking mid control with a T-side awp in favor of more set plays anyway. hell d2 and inferno are benefitted because it is now literally impossible to peek with a double scope at full speed or near enough full speed to get the prefire which is the only way cts used to be able to peek t spawn or t stairs on those maps.

the awp remains a powerful weapon and one that will see use on T and CT sides, and i find it hard to believe someone can be so incensed by a change which makes the awp fulfill a role more similar to the one it fulfilled in 1.6

i'm not debating what the awp can and cant do i'm well aware of the points you're making my second comment was mainly directed towards how retarded valve is and their entire concept or "trying to balance the game" i can see reworking maps but i always fear the worst when they mess with guns. i remember when csgo first came out i didn't even bother playing since silenced m4 didn't even exist in the game which was the biggest joke to me since its been a thing in cs since forever, then of course people complained long enough and they finally added it

cause its going to take a lot more than some awp changes, they should start with the crouch mechanic (cs 1.6 was very intelligently designed in that regard, csgo is not)

if they decided to leave the awp how it is now (fix the walk acceleration bs) and add 1.6 quickscoping I'd be fine with that. I'm not even mad cause the awp is weak. It just feels shitty and not fun to play with. the closest thing resembling skill is quickscoping but not actually quickscoping but more like a medium quickscope. how dumb is that lets be honest?
add quickscoping, add a crosshair (since you can't stop people using it anyway), increase the hitbox headshot size slightly, make spraying more accurate while crouched, make it take time to crouch and uncrouch like 1.6, fix the jumping hitbox models, make mm 128 tick, make bhopping/movement better, and the game would actually be good/fun

the only new mechanic I like in go is the crouch uncrouch fluidity when spraying honestly
my issue with the awp change is that it's a boring change. honestly if it had full quickscoping capability and they literally made it so you couldn't move i wouldnt care cause then youd at least see cool jump peek shit

in a game where headshots matter so much, being able to randomly juke them by spamming your crouch button is pretty broken. its bullshit rng. theres times when I see the guy start to uncrouch (or just know its going to happen) I'm already aiming above him, and I shoot and it hits the body. its like the hitbox instantly snaps to the full height. or the retards that buy armor glock on pistol round and spam crouch vs usp while body shotting/spamming bullets everywhere. I really think its a bad mechanic.. as for the fatigue its just annoying and not very effective at stopping abuse.
I prefer the 1.6 version where you have to commit to a spray. you get better spraydowns from increased accuracy, but its more risky to go into a spray. and no bs crouch spam mid fight. the mini jumps from crouching arecool too
