They used to throttle connections hard, some rogers cable guy told me they had till november to stop doing it, so I guess they finally listened

YES! Finally giving the speeds they say you should get last week or so my upload was 0.4 and not it's 1.82 (Says up to 2mbps) WOOOOOO!

They still throttle it but they raised the cap and pretended they were being nice. I got a free upgrade since I had a certain plan, to reply to #6.

Edit: I believe I have the Extreme (2nd highest?)
edit2: I looked at their website and my speeds don't match any of their plans... Weird.

Bell Fibe had way better plans compared until these new speeds came out. Probably just trying to compete. THIS IS A STEP FORWARD TO NON-SHITTY INTERNETS!

Honestly I wish they would just let me have like 10 Up and not make my download a speed that isn't necessary...

Your speedtest may go over your download limit because all plans have "SpeedBoost" feature that automatically provides a temporary burst of speed between 10MB - 50MB. This is pretty much for streaming videos faster.

Your not going to be downloading anything faster after this upgrade though.
It's the steam servers that's bottlenecking your download speeds not your plan. Pretty much all servers will bottleneck your download speed.
And Rogers have by the end of December to stop all throttling.

It's the upload speed thats the plus in these upgrades.

i have a private website which i use for torrents, but they used to go up to 8mb/s

now they are at 1mb/s maybe 1.3 on good days
