tonmasmy biggest fear is this game will just end up being a contest of who can press the best 'I win' button and movement and deathmatching barely matter

They've already said that this isn't a DM shooter.

downpour[*] his "right click" is just a straight shooting orb, doesnt home just goes where your aiming
[*] he has a purple orb that either works on a cooldown or after a certain amount of regular orbs are firing that homes on targets near the cursor (might actually home on targets hit by the regular orb), looks to "Steal health"
[*] he has a yellow orb that heals allies, might heal based on how much health you have stolen using purple orbs
[*] and he has a charge up that collects 5 orbs and fires them in quick succession
[*] his ultimate causes him to take no damage and stops projectiles and enemies from passing by him within a certain AOE, although he still takes knockback

this isnt difficult guys
but his ultimate makes like no sense with the rest of his kit :DDD

ugh whatever listing is hard

Yeah, I don't understand what people are so confused about. A lot of his kit seemed awfully straight forward.

And anyway, why is everyone surprised that you aren't getting the entire picture right off of the bat? We're watching gameplay of a hero that we've never seen gameplay of (and I'm guessing this is the first time many people in this thread have seem raw gameplay of this game, period), so of course we don't know precisely what's happening at all times. What, did you start playing TF2 and immediately know every weapon of every class, how to use those weapons properly, how to rocket/sticky jump, etc. etc.? I'm sure if I invited a friend over who's never seen or played TF2 in his life, he'd be awfully confused and have a lot of questions.

I'm not even interested in this game at all but the gameplay was pretty easy to follow and I feel like some of you guys are just being overly reactionary just because everyone's been hyping this game up as the great TF2 killer for some reason. Like, some people literally -fragged a dude who says he thinks the gameplay looks cool. Chill the fuck out.

e: Also the hud sucks, the lack of an FOV slider is incredibly stupid, and the constant voice lines is excessive as shit.

That is true about any new game. I absolutely guarantee people that play other games and try to watch a pov of tf2 for the first time probably want to vomit due to the ridiculous amount of shit flying across the screen.

minute and a half in and I can already tell she is going to be one of my favorite classes, next to the rocket guy if he's any good.

HeadfulofSandvichIs that actually an fps moba? all I ever remember hearing about that game was that it was some shitty pay-to-win fps made by the same guys who made HoN? Correct me if I'm wrong, I have no actual idea.

Essentially, there are two teams, each has 16 players. One of those players plays as the "commander", with an RTS perspective of the entire battlefield, complete with fog of war. He can build outposts and expand his base, along with providing buffs to players. His role is to literally command the other players, guiding them with his unique perspective of the battlefield.

The other 15 players on each team play in a first or third person perspective, running around across multiple lanes (map design somewhat reminiscent of Dawn of War 1), capturing bases and killing the other team. Each time you die, you can respawn as a different class. Classes have roles, rather than direct counters like TF2 - there's essentially support, ranged, and melee. By killing other players and by capturing outposts, you can gain money which you can spend on consumables or on playing a life as one of the tier 2 classes, which are stronger versions of the free tier 1 ones, essentially. You can also from time to time play as one of the giant siege units when granted by the commander, for assaulting the enemy base. Players are divided into squads with squad leaders, sort of like Planetside, and the commander can issue orders per-squad.

It essentially boils down to a class-based FPS AoS-style game for 15 players per team, while the last player plays from an RTS perspective.

It went free to play long ago. It isn't really pay to win as far as I remember. It ran on fucking everything, it even had a wonderfully performing native Linux client. It's a shame it died off, it was honestly a wonderful game and if a Savage 3 were to come out today, it would do wonderfully.

I recently watched the
McCree

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkoRX2n9TSA

and the
Hanzo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PB4g3TVRuQ

gameplay vids, but it's really tough to see how this works as a good, balanced competitive game. I really hope I'm wrong because it looks like a fun game to play.

That Hanzo video was just him blind firing huntsman at a faster rate. 2:16 is a great example of that. Also, the game gets really chaotic after that point, and coupled with that nauseous FPS, makes the whole experience really weird.
