Eydok here,

So i have been shoutcasting for quite some time now but i recently started going live. I invest every minute of my free time into shoutcasting and would like you people to give me a feedback. I currently shoutcast CSS and LOL, but TF2 has been my favourite game and have played it alot. The main reason i started doing shoutcasting is Extine. Here are some videos of mine. You don't have to watch them fully, but go through them pariatially to see the climaxes of the video.

P.S. What i can't make up in the quality of the video, i make it up with the shoutcasting.

P.P.S. I am currently looking for a team to shoutcast. Add me on steam, it's EydokTV

It sounds really good and glad you enjoy doing shoutcast, from what I've noticed here in our community is that anyone that has a live stream going that wants to shoutcast will do it. Try leaving a message to extine here or add him on steam and see if you can help out on extv as well. GL

Thank you mate. i did add Extine on steam but he didn't add me back. I can understand, that alot of people want to play with him. But shoutcasting wise i haven't tried. I want this topic to grow a bit more so extine himself might take a look at it. besides, i think it would be interesting if i could do a live shoutcast on a TF2 match, since i don't think extine will be interested in CSS or LOL.

I think tuscan just needs so much more skill then the rest of the maps. And besides: Yyou get fast action gameplay, because the map is so small.

If you want to shoutcast a live TF2 match you just need STV. ESEA season 13 is starting up soon, so visit their website and find matches that work for your timezone.

Well, you don't necessarily have to do it live since the STV for every match is available for download - so you can get the cream of the excitement crop if you're looking to construct a tf2 resume, etc.

I know, but i think live its still a different feeling then watching a past happened action on youtube.

Hi Eydok,

Obviously, I don't know you but you might appreciate knowing what you're in for and what you might be able to improve on.

It will be easier to generate TF2 viewers if you have a deep understanding of the game. I suppose this is like any other game but TF2 can be a little different. The success of our TF2 casters balances on their ability to comment on the game play. Why a push was unsuccessful, what a team has to change to win or why the medic just made a game-breaking play. If you listen to any of Extine/sal/cbear/djc/etc casts you'll notice how well they fill gaps with some informative analysis. It can be make or break whether a viewer appreciates your casting or not. Especially if you talk a lot but its clear you're not really sure whats going on. I would suggest working on that first until you feel as though you can really add something rather than simply casting what is happening. Otherwise you might get a lot of negative response and people will be less likely to tune in again.

It is also important to keep an eye out for critical points in the match. Back caps, bombers, dropped ubers, off-classing (people especially like to watch spy). This is a huge perk of having multiple casters... the extra set of experienced eyes can predict when these critical points might happen. This prediction and foresight allows you to switch the camera while explaining to your viewers whats going on and why it is (or might be) exciting. Sometimes this can all happen in a matter of seconds.

Anyway, good luck

edit: I realize you weren't posting here for 'shoutcasting tips' but like I said, tf2 can be different. If you can perfect it, viewers will be easier to sustain and you wouldn't seem so anonymous to the community.

Thanks for the tipp mate. Now i might not be an expert player, but i have played about 4th division so i still know the "basics" of the game. It will take me more time to refresh my memory on tactiques (since i have been doing alot of CSS and LOL shoutcasting) but in the end i will be able to pull it off. I know it.

Allright, my first TF2 Livestream. NOTE: The stream is laggy, cause my inet sucks. I also did not know anything about the teams or the players, it was a blind shoutcast. Game starts at 17:20. The shoutcast gets better around 18-19 minute.

Awesome! Eydok. Thanks for posting your first tf2 cast. I loved the enthusiasm (and accent). :)

You should install a hud so you do not have the default spectator view (it blocks alot of the action).

Below is the link to Salamancer's hud (EXTV hud)--
http://www.youtube.com/redirect?q=http%3A%2F%2Ft.co%2F9VinuXkB&session_token=mO1wYyXHqQWKs2n3VhcKEDMB9Ad8MTM1NTQzMjUzNEAxMzU1MzQ2MTM0

[Found on his youtube channel- http://www.youtube.com/fatmop]

If you want to tryout other huds- http://teamfortress.tv/forum/thread/183-collection-of-custom-huds

To install:
*go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\<your username>\team fortress 2\tf
*delete any folders titled scrips and resource (you probably will not have a scrips folder)
*open the zip folder and drag the scrips and resource folders from the hud into your tf folder
*start up tf2 to see the new hud

The only addition to that is that the folder should be named "materials" and not "material." No idea why it's saved that way.

That was actually pretty good for a first TF2 cast, only problem was the in game sound was really weird-sounding, however I am unsure as to what would have caused that
