When I get around to installing this I predict that a spades hitmarker on Soldier melee will add a whole unprecedented new dimension and depth to Market Gardening on shitty Skial pubs.
Your work is greatly appreciated.

getting the crosshair in works just fine, but it has the same problem seemingly every other crosshair has had for me, which is that, no matter how I adjust the positioning or wide/tall, it's always one pixel off-center (and indeed, screenshotting and measuring each side from the center shows, in this case, that it's quite literally just a single pixel off every time). is there a way to fix that, or is that just one of the things you have to deal with when it comes to HUD crosshairs?

couch_sitteredyle snip 2: electric snipaloo
Making it bigger / smaller means the econ fonts part worked right, so it's just having trouble finding the actual crosshair itself. It sounds like it might be the path to the KnucklesCrosses.ttf file - I know I had the same problem as Cookie (#21) where the pastebin differed from the filename, e.g. KnucklesCrosshair.ttf instead of KnucklesCrosses.ttf. Try double/triple checking the path at the bottom of the clientscheme.res file? You can add me on steam if you want other help other than forum posts.
Everything is correct in terms of the relationship between the directory path in clientscheme.res and where I put the actual font file. Right now its
"font" "resource/fonts/KnucklesCrosses.ttf"
and where I put the font file is
steamapps/common/Teamfortress2/tf/custom/CustomThings/resource/fonts
I even copy and pasted the font files name (KnucklesCrosses.ttf) into the directory at the bottom of clientscheme.res to make 100% sure I wasn't typing one letter wrong or something.
So It has to be something in my actual hud that's not making everything connect right? I actually might try getting a random hud and putting in knuckles crosshair stuff into that hud just to see if the problem would be something to do internally within my current huds files.
Edit: Yup it's just my hud that's killing these custom crosshairs from working somehow. I installed kunckles crosshairs into both rayshud and yayahud and every crosshair I'd try would work. Guess my hud is just doomed when it comes to crosshair stuff because I don't want to spend hours trying to figure out what the problem might be for a hud I'll have to replace anyway once matchmaking comes.

Alright my past post has gotten kind of long so guess I'll just make a new post
1) I installed yayahud and installed knuckles crosshairs and they worked
2) then I replaced that hud with rayshud and installed knuckles crosshairs into that hud, and they also worked
3) After that I realized my original hud is the problem with why the custom crosshairs don't show up
4) I went to put my original hud back into the game, loaded up the game, and my hud crosshairs were fucked up. For the custom crosshair the game was showing a little cross with like an upside down L next to the cross (changing the labeltext value in hudlayout.res did nothing).
5) I decided to remove my hud so tf2 can reinstall its default hud and I'll see if it'll still show that weird crosshair. It's not showing up on the default hud so I go to install my original hud back into the game to see if that crosshair will still be there or not
6) Now knuckles crosshairs are working on my original hud where only the letters/symbols would previously work
So after installing two huds, reinstalling mine, uninstalling mine so I can get the default hud back, then reinstalling mine made the crosshairs work
I don't know whats going on anymore. I guess if anyone else is having the problem I am even after making sure you did everything correctly, you could try doing what I did.

I also get that exact same problem. It's not actually noticeable unless you play sniper where you can literally see it being one pixel off, so I don't mind it really. Would be cool if you could fix that though.

On even resolutions, the bottom-right one of the four center pixels is there your shots go. Is that what we're talking about?
You can do subpixel positioning of HUD text by setting its alignment to centered, and then changing the width/height of the text element between even and odd. As long as you're not running greater than 1080p, you can center any crosshair aside from text rendering issues / blur.

m + n = most godly looking konr wings ever.
try it out.
also, is there any way to make the crosshair outlines look more detailed? it looks REALLY low res to my eyes, that's literally the only thing I think it wrong with this.

Important Note : Copy and Paste ONLY FROM Raw Pasta Data make sure for the 2nd step you're copying EVERYTHING not just up to size 12 but everything all the way down to 50! Took me a while to figure it since I was so strictly bent on following the instructions.

From what I can see, the econ font section is just within font{}, so I assume you should be able to just put them right after the custom font files. Can't really confirm though. Give it a try?

Mess around with wide/tall, and try changing between even/odd font size (20/21 for example) and you should be able to perfectly center it.

Eh. From what I recall the sniper dot isn't entirely centered either. It's close enough for soldier. Guess I could try mucking about with decimals.

I've sort of been trying to make it, but I use the default dot crosshair for the dot since it's centered.
The brackets seem centered around the dot, there's just a slight lean towards the left in color which makes these two exist:

in hudlayout.res put Visible and Enabled at 1 for every HUD crosshair you want. Save Hudlayout.res and hud_reloadscheme if your game is open already. Now all the ones you enabled will be visible in-game
Most people do this to enable something like Thincircle or Konrwings with a different HUD crosshair but you can do whatever you want. and as long as "crosshair 1" is enabled in console you can combine it with the in-game crosshairs
You can edit all of them seperately. Move them around if they're not centered, change their size, change their color, etc.
Here's a simple example where I used the CircleDot (green) + the OpenCross (white + sort of transparent but video quality is too bad to see that) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jWcw8YBA8I (video quality and speedrun quality are both bad but you get the idea)
To do this you'd enable CircleDot with Visible 1 and enabled 1, make sure it's centered, change the color to green. RGB "0 255 0 255".
Then do the same with the OpenCross, Except a different color. For transparency you'd lower the 4th RGB value so here it'd be "255 255 255 100" for white + transparent.
I had "crosshair 0" in console so I only had the 2 HUD crosshairs

yea use the Achievement Tracker method + combine it with class cfgs
Edit the achievement tracker file and make sure it works by testing hud_achievement_tracker 0/1
Then just put hud_achievement_tracker 1 in your medic.cfg and put hud_achievement_tracker 0 in all other class cfg files
If you've never worked with class cfg files:
http://puu.sh/mwAUJ/ac7627674e.png here's where they should be in your custom folder.
If they're not there yet you can just make them yourself. make new txt documents and rename them to soldier.cfg, pyro.cfg, heavyweapons.cfg, etc. They can be edited with notepad
There's probably some good tutorials on youtube if you're not sure what to do

Knuckles_Step 1:
The first two steps to installing a HUD crosshair is involved in HUD/resource/clientscheme.res. After you’ve opened this file scroll down to the very bottom to a section that should look like this:
http://puu.sh/iQDyj/9fd7b42408.png
Now paste the text from this pastebin: http://pastebin.com/0KaUY2tG at the end, and change “x” to the next ascending number to look like this:
http://puu.sh/iQDA1/d8a13c0d62.png
Step 2:
Also in HUD/resource/clientscheme.res, use ctrl+f to find ECON FONT. After this section, paste the text from this pastebin: http://pastebin.com/jj2XZmfX to look like this:
http://puu.sh/iQDQI/ebe4a19caa.png
Step 3:
Now open the file HUD/scripts/hudlayout.res. This will be where you will edit the crosshair, it’s size, and it’s color. Use the text found here: http://pastebin.com/CYbXZER5 as a template. The text should go near the top and look like this:
http://puu.sh/iQEJ6/347389043c.png
Now to edit your crosshair you have 3 major areas of customization:
1. “labelText”- This is how you change which crosshair is being displayed. You should reference this image: http://puu.sh/iQIft/2cfec7eed5.png to see which crosshair is related to each labelText
2. “font”- Here you change the size of the crosshair and if it has an outline, it’s a little self explanatory.
3. “fgcolor”- Here you can edit the RGB and alpha values.
Hey, I'm having a problem with my crosshair. The crosshair I wanted was the one that was letter S. When I started up the game, instead of the crosshair that looks like a star, there is a huge S on my screen. Any ideas how to fix it.

You added it in incorrectly, probably. Do it again.
