Offtopic but I'm looking forward to see that shadowburn guy play on LAN, he is nuts.

Dante was lagging out during snakewater as well, standing still and not building uber and dropping people during uber. On badlands we were up 4-1 while dante still had these issues until his internet finally went out and we got serv0 in. Needless to say, everyone was pretty frustrated and I don't think anyone wanted to be up too late so we just decided to play it out. I noticed Bdonski with 100 ping as well from time to time, so there were clearly issues on their side as well.
Unfortunate things happen online. LAN will be a lot of fun, the games will be close, glhf to everyone

Yeah, Bdonski was fine for the first half of Snakewater, but then it jumped to 100-150 for the rest of Snakewater and Badlands..
Knuckles_I'm not sure many teams if any would be so willing to replace their med like froyo did. There are open teams that in the first match of the season would pause for an hour if they had similar issues. Hope ascent realizes how lucky they are they weren't up until 3 am
The original plan was to play our match vs $5 on Monday the 13th, then play our next opponent (which happened to be Froyo) on Tuesday. This is because Shrugger and I were going to EVO on Wednesday, so we set it up so we could get the first two rounds done on Monday and Tueday, and then go to EVO. Shrugger and I wouldn't get back until Tuesday morning, the 21st. Well, then there was the issue with the Monday matches getting fucked up due to the third map never loading. The admins couldn't get it fixed that night, so we had to get the third map played on Tuesday. The 20b vs Froyo third map started at 11:30 EST, so if that went the full hour (barring pauses and other general delays), then if we tried to play Froyo in a bo3 right after, the bo3 would have started at 12:30 AM, potentially lasting as long as roughly 3:30 or 4 AM. And yeah, fuck that. I have work in the morning and it might as well get rescheduled to a different day at that point.
Froyo couldn't play on the Tuesday we got back. So, the match had to be played on Wednesday, the 22nd. It was the final day that the extension could be given due to the ESEA problems early last week. Killing told me that if the match wasn't played on Wednesday, we would be getting a forfeit loss. For anyone who suggests Shrugger and I should have skipped EVO, you're crazy. We booked our flights, hotel and passes before the season started. I'm not going to throw away +$800 when a match can be extended at a later date (and I talked with Killing about it before going, too).
Shade's internet issues on the second map were spontaneous and caused him to lag out completely at times. We were very patient throughout the match for their pauses, but I don't think anyone (Froyo included) were willing to wait at least an hour for Shade's internet to be possibly fixed. There was a pause that lasted about 20 minutes, and we also waited another 20 minutes during pre-game for shade to get his internet back up. They paused once or twice more (and we paused once) but those didn't last that long. Anyway, let me quote tsc:
tscESEA rules state that pauses must be at least five minutes, and after that any team can unpause with a five second warning. So in theory they can be as long as both teams are willing to stand, but as soon as one team wants to end it they can force the game to resume.
I believe teams get two five-minute pauses. We could have forced them to unpause, as they went way over five minutes on most of their pauses, but we were patient and understood their situation. None of us pressured Froyo into getting a sub. At most, all we did was ask for updates on their situation.
So no, we weren't "lucky" that we weren't up until 3 AM, because we probably would have said something if the delay was getting too asinine (and we waited a long time, too). I'm not sure about anyone on Froyo, but Rando and I have work in the morning. We were patient, but we weren't going to wait an unreasonable amount of time for shade to possibly come back, and I believe Froyo felt the same way.
Please don't assume you know all of the details in the situation when posting something like that.

The whole people lagging out in a match is not fun for anyone. Would be cool if some kind of backup internet situation was available. Could be something like running a 100ft Ethernet cord from a chill neighbors house, or if you or a friend have a good reliable 4G LTE tethered phone, that would be better than a flaky internet connection.
Anyways, look forward to watching these teams play each other on LAN.
