Native CPI, generally speaking, refers to those cpi inherent to the sensor and not requiring interpolation (effectively multiplication or division of a native cpi to achieve certain values, and can lead to issues, e.g. pixel skipping or input lag). Due to Zowie's "no software, no bs" approach, their mice are limited to certain cpi values. For those generations of mice you're referring to, those values would be 450/1150/2300. Unfortunately, all of these values are interpolated, as the 3090 has native cpis of 800/3600 to my knowledge.
The 3310 has native cpis in the range of 50-5000, in steps of 50. Effectively, unless the manufacturer has applied a SROM to raise the CPI limit, every cpi step available is native. I hope that answers your question, check out the GeekHack guide for more information on terminology and the like if you'd like to read further.
Edit: For polling rate, 1000hz would be the consensus better option (1ms delay vs. 2ms) if not for issues with some firmware/sensors implementations which can make the 1000hz step have issues, such as instability. For the FK1, I've heard of no such issues.

the native of the old FK was the 2300 step. only the other two were interpolated.
the reason the values were off is because they used a custom lens to get low lift-off-distance on their mice. it was because of that custom lens that the values differ from other mice using the same sensor.
it was a nice effort, but +1 for 3310 :)

Precisely! I simplified interpolation to multiplication/division (such as the ~1.25x multiplier with the kingsis lens) and the 2300 cpi step as interpolated due to such a change and the fact that stating it as non-native/interpolated would more easily convey the concept of native being generally preferable, and non-native typically causing issues (as the 2300 step does/did have quite the jitter issue).

Has the DA 2013's smoothing been proven or debunked?
Does it introduce input lag? Does it apply on low DPI steps?

There were plenty of reports after the 2013s release about noticeable smoothing, I hadn't heard of anyone "debunking" those accounts and after some quick searching I couldn't find anything for you. Especially because smoothing is present in most every mouse to one degree or another, people may exaggerate or their hardware may amplify the issue, or simply be more sensitive to such.

Does anyone with the EC1 Evo have issues with the mouse fucking up if you swipe fast? I fuck up a lot of rocket jumps when I swipe to aim the RJ rocket and the mouse spazzes. I'm not sure if I might actually be lifting the mouse up a little and it's just the LoD being really low, or if it's something else.
I'm using the Artisan Hayate (pure black), but I'm pretty sure it happened on my QcK+ as well.

Yep, that's a problem with 3090 mice in general since they don't have very high max tracking speed. I get the problem with EC1, ninox, and my AM.

Keep in mind the mousepad you use also effects your Max tracking speed and LOD.
For a general idea of a good mouse pad that'll give you good max tracking speeds.
1. Solid black, or a pattern similar to the puretrack talent is also good for some mice
2. The mousepad has a small amount of resistance to it, idk how to explain it but mouse pads that feel really smooth if they're cloth tend to have bad max tracking speeds.
3. If you want a hard pad make sure you use a texturized one.
+ Some DPI levels on a mouse get different Max tracking speeds, most sensors do best on lower DPIs
-edit-
Also if you're experiencing that issue on Artisan and QCK mouse pads odds you're very easily hitting your max tracking speed, and may want to raise your sensitivity or get a new mouse.

Yeah I just tested it out. If I swipe fast it tends to go halfway, then jumps my aim upwards.
I'm assuming changing DPI won't do anything? (Currently using 1150)
If it's a serious issue, are there any good mice with high tracking speeds?

g402 has the highest atm (roughly 10m/s)
g502 and g303 or also high 5 to 7 m/s region depending on DPI
Zowie FK1 does over 5 m/s

I loved the MX518/G400 but these new Logitech mice looks like transformers. :<
Though I actually managed to stop it from happening by just being aware of it and making my RJs a bit more deliberate.

I'm looking for a new mouse like the FK but I'm not sure which to get. Everything about the FK I like except for the size. I wish it was slightly bigger and wider. Any suggestions?

The new ZA line might be of note, this link posted above shows the ZA 11/12/13 compared to the FK1. I might recommend the ZA13; quite identical in specs but the more exaggerated hump (picture for reference here) certainly makes the mouse feel more sizable than the dimensions suggest.
Edit: For non Zowie suggestions I'd recommend looking at the Steelseries Rival (a bit larger) or the Mionix Avior (a little wider, tiny bit less long, and a bit heavier).

Recently came across this "Speed by Surface" mousepad on amazon for $13.
About an average price for a mousepad, but the kicker is that it's a full aluminum pad with a rubber packing which makes it an absolute steal at $13. I originally ordered it considering how cheap it was but I am very surprised by the quality and feel of the pad. It's my first hard pad transitioning from a PureTrak Stealth but it is very nice and has a decent size (14in x 11in) as well.

Looking at getting a different mouse. I have used the Ninox Aurora since it was released, but I'm looking for something slightly bigger. I was pretty happy with the Steelseries Rubberized Sensei, but I had to replace them after 6 mths/year.
The Zowie FK1 looks to be very similar in dimensions. Apart from the sensor, what else is a notable difference (at least, compared to the FK2)? I've heard people talking about the mwheel - is it kinda 'dicky' for this mouse?
Thanks guys

the FK1 and FK2 are the same mouse with a slightly different measurements
as per usual with Zowie, bigger number means smaller mouse. this is the same with the ZA11/12/13 and EC1-A/EC2-A
here's the measurements for the FK1/2:

It's also worth noting that the FK2 has lighter clicks if I am not mistaken. Some people complained that the Huanos in the FK1 took a tiny bit too much force to click, so I think they shifted the position of the switches so that they have a lighter click in the FK2 (I don't own the FK2 but this is what I've heard)
