If infinite is in charge of HL, I don't understand why he seems to speak for the 6v6 section of UGC. It seems as if UGC feels so strongly about this, it would be Marxist (the 6v6 admin) or Forn (the head admin) discussing it.

Another funny thing infinite does: He keeps saying "You guys don't know who does what in UGC so stfu" but then he seems to proudly claim responsibility for the stupid decisions (exhibit A: what he just said to tragic). You have yet to give any sort of evidence that suggests you've done anything good for the league. You can quote this post and say "shut up, you just joined this season, you have no clue what you're talking about," but that doesn't convince anyone. If you're such a good admin, surely it would be easy to make a list of wonderful things you've done in the past couple seasons. You can be as shitty an admin as you want, as long as you cover up the shit and make a big deal out of the good things you do. For some reason you have it backwards.

Shit, I would play again in UGC if they paid for my next season's league fees and premium if I won UGC-Plat. I think it would be more appealing to UGC if it wasn't the top 8 placing teams. Maybe something like the top team gets free 3 months premium code as well as leagues fees paid. The second place team gets their league fees paid for the season? That would be less of a financial endeavor for UGC, but it would still attract players into UGC whether it be new teams looking for a useful prize, or already established esea teams just looking to get freemium. UGC will never be the same competition as esea without a decent prize that is worth something. You won't get higher competition giving out donated hats to winners.

I don't see how this is unfair to UGC. It brings higher level talent back to UGC, creating even more teams that inf can brag about in every post he makes. And attracts new teams with a decent prize for doing well in your league. UGC could be around the same competition level of what I would think would be high-open/low-im. I would definitely play UGC, if they paid my IM-league fee, or if I won, my premium also.

I don't care how much you've done in the past for UGC. Keeping you around now is a PR nightmare.

Again, attention overlord pretends he knows so much yet in reality knows very little. Sure your endless forum hours let you know which player was on which team on which day but you have no clue how things work in UGC. I am the most vocal, but there are many other admins who are part of the team. The whole esea "offer" and tragic's personal financially gratifying business proposal were all dealt with by fornaught & several of the other admins before I was even involved. Feel free to chat with him if you'd like, he'll give the same reasons plus more why those two ideas were not mutually beneficial to UGC. He doesn't have the desire or interesting posting on these clearly biased forums. Probably some good advice I will start taking. Enjoy!

Irony is if ETF2L was not "EU-centric" they could easily run a league to compete with UGC and I can bet you more people would join as ETF2L is 5 times better at PR and has a further reaching arm in terms of connections.

All I am saying is if we really wanted to, we could kill UGC and make you 2nd for NA HL and EU HL.

It seems that Inf's main argument (and apparently all the UGC admins' main problem) with the freemium idea or something similar is that it would lead to the top teams leaving UGC plat. This doesn't make much sense to me; if a team got freemium from UGC plat, why wouldn't they play again? The extra time it takes in their schedule is literally one match a week; if you suppose that takes an hour (as matches tend to take a while to start) that's maybe one scrim out of that day they're missing. In fact, it would probably encourage more low/mid open teams to play UGC 6s as well who want the freemium. Plenty of teams are willing to play one extra match a week: look at the support around CEVO returning with a one match per week system.

The only problem with giving away freemium is that we're a free league - besides site traffic ad revenue, we're simply not making enough money to sponsor a large number of players. It's not an idea we're necessarily opposed to, but simply unable to carry out. What little donations and revenue do come in end up being used for our primary focus - our Highlander division.

Youdon't understand. ESEA was going to be giving premiums to these teams for free. It would cost UGC nothing.

If ESEA would be willing to do that we'd probably have nothing against it. I think the implication I was getting (and the source of the misunderstanding) was that we'd be paying for players to go play in another league. If such a "merger" were to occur it'd probably be nothing but a benefit for the entirety of the NA community
