froyotech and nerdRage.tf2 met in the upper finals after dispatching Reason and The Last Resort, respectively. In their group stage match, froyotech came out on top of nerdRage in a very close game 3-1. The first map of the series was Product, picked by nerdRage.tf2. froyotech managed to take a very close first round which came down to the wire and then achieved a perfect second round, not letting nerdRage capture the point once. nerdRage came back by winning the third round, but froyotech took the fourth and final round to take the map 3-1.

The next map was Process, which was froyotech's pick. froyotech struck first by rolling the first round, but nerdRage returned by rolling the second round. froyotech then rolled the third round and were poised to take the fourth round, but failed to hold on, allowing nerdRage to push all the way back to tie the score again. With twenty minutes left, the fifth round began with a nerdRage mid win, but both teams kept holding on and trading back and forth. froyotech had two chances to win the round with a few minutes left in the game, but failed both times, resulting in the clock running out and the game going to overtime. In overtime, froyotech pushed nerdRage all the way back to last, but a series of medic picks allowed nerdRage to claw their way back into the game and eventually take the round, winning the map 3-2 and tying the series up.

Thus, the teams proceeded to the deciding map of Snakewater. froyotech again came out strong by winning the first round, but nerdRage rolled the second round to tie up the game. froyotech then take another round to take the lead again. The next mid is contested very closely, with froyotech capturing it initially but nerdRage managing to retake it after an uber fight. The teams fight back and forth for nearly fifteen minutes before nerdRage gets a crucial med pick that allows them to roll all the way back from their last to take the round and tie up the score. nerdRage then rolls the next round and wins mid, and froyotech is unable to push back, allowing nerdRage to take another round to extend their lead, giving nerdRage the map win at 4-2 and the series win 2-1.

With the series win, nerdRage.tf2 has gained the first spot in the grand finals tomorrow. froyotech now are knocked down to the lower finals, which they will play tomorrow against another team to be determined at the end of today for the second spot in the grand finals.
