That was actually on of my ideas when I realized the amount of material I have. I was thinking about releasing like a Day 1 / Day 2 / Day 3 Video in batches, but still not sure about that I would have to go over all the material to make a decision. Also I would definitely not make it fragumentary style, that was already done before and tbh that's not my style, I would definitely incorporate lan shots tho but nothing too much, just as transitions / intro etc...

Agree on all points, already talked to nymthae about getting stv demos and that should be fairly easy, also have a fair amount of the players on my friendslist and you probably as well that's a bit timeconsuming but shouldn't be too hard.

I hope you aren't talking about the edit tho :D because that's definitely not doable in 1 month, specially if I want to incorporate SFM shots and after effects (which I wanted)

They should mix them both, i52 was pretty straight line. I don't think what you could take from it.

Hey - just throwing it out there - I have a ton of experience with Adobe Premiere and Avid Media Composer / Avid Pro Tools. I work in TV professionally. If you guys need extra help cutting segments I'm totally in.

out of curiousity how is a pov demo any different from an stv in terms of making a fragmovie?

POVs have a higher tickrate which makes the hitreg look better, the killfeed highlighting your frags and assists (although this can be edited in) and certain things you'd get in game like damage numbers. Even with beaters videos where he edits stvs to look more like povs I can tell a fair amount of the time when it's an edited stv just because things look a little wonky.

The kills are, how do I say it, clearer, specially for sniper, because there's not a small delay or lag compensation like there's for stvs from the client to server. Then again I dont remember working with lan stvs so I'm not sure if it's as noticeable.
Also the killfeed (you can still change that nowadays with status spec, but it's easier if u have a pov).
You also lose a lot of information like hp, ammo, etc, for example for medic plays or some clutch plays is a very valuable thing to have
But the biggest overall diference comes to smoothing, you can't really smooth shots wiht stv demos, well at least not in the way you can with pov demos, and I usually work alot with smooths in transitions, etc...

I actually gave up on premiere just because I was already so experienced / used on vegas and also because I have a couple plugins I use a lot on vegas, but sounds like your experience would be very valuable, we'll see how it goes as I have no idea how much footage there is of both frags, lan, etc---

I loved the i49 doc and have watched it several times mostly because of the awesome story and narration created within it. I don't know if that's possible this time. Lange was a great narrator and had a good script to read. Plus there seemed to be ample footage of pre-LAN boot camping, after-hours festivities and gaming itself as bones and cube no doubt filmed with that narration in mind. From what I've seen so far on YT there are candid moments from the LAN but not enough to create a story apart from the LAN bracket itself. I'd love to be wrong about that, though.

If it comes down to a lot of frag montages mixed in with some casting audio (those guys went nuts), plus any good interviews or life-at-LAN footage it could be a decent showcase.

I wish I could go to iLANs just to film.

Do it in chronological order and even if you don't have anyone narrating, have like some sort of animation showing the brackets or something so you know what is going on.

Actually if you'd use HLAE you can smooth stv demos, and even see the player in the smooth if you use a pov demo

If you mean like watching twitch/youtube vods and noting down frag video moments that happened I can help out.

Yeah we decided to go through the entire vods from stream 1 and 2 first. And note all noteworthy moments, please get in contact with me or beater if you want to help out.

The camera work was amazing (thanks to arie's amazing airshot prediction tool (aka live stats) ) so a lot of ticks are much more easily obtainable from the vods.

After that I'll see how much material I end up with and will probably go through a few povs or uncasted games stvs

marz and mearlite are currently helping me out, and we've already completed about 60% of the day one games, so an amazing effort so far. We could still use more help though, so please speak up if you would like to join the effort!

Would it be possible to write a script that shows twitch messages per minute to find big plays?

I think Nightbot has graphs of chat message volume and so it might be possible to do so.

Someone should try and find kratos' surf in our game vs dogs, he was really happy with that.
