Does anyone have any recommendations for this? I use the FK with a qck mousepad. The stock mouse feet last a week or two before the mouse starts to feel uncomfortable because of the friction. I also tried out hyperglides and they felt like an improvement but I'm only a month in and I had to switch them out. I'm not sure why my mouse feet are wearing out so quickly when other people don't seem to be having this issue.
First off stock fk mouse feet are pretty shit so that's no surprise. Second off, how often do you clean your mousepad? The teflon on the mouse feet can wear off and get stuck into the pad, usually produces kind of a "sticky" feeling which can be attributed to more friction. I've had pretty good experiences with hyperglides in the past and a month is way way on the short side of their lifespan, especially on a cloth pad.
Of course there's always a chance your qck is just wearing out, I've never had amazing durability with that pad.

I bought the qck around December and I've been washing the mousepad with soap and warm water like bi-monthly since June.
the fk1 is the worst mouse for this, because the clearance between the mousefeet and the bottom of the mouse is almost nothing. and you can't put thicker mousefeet on because of the extremely low lod. (if you have an original FK you can lens mod and put thick mousefeet on)
the qck does have high friction and can wear out and develop sticky spots so potentially get a lower friction pad (make sure its black/dark for fk1 or the lod will be even less)

I'm using the fk14' at the moment but I've used the fk1 in the past months with the same issue. Do you have any recommendations for a lower friction pad. I've always read people saying that their fk was fine on a qck so I never really questioned it.

since its the fk14 id recommend doing lens mod and adding thick mouse feet (like puretrak HD intellimouse feet). its a real fix.
its opening the mouse, taking out the lens, prying off the custom piece and putting the lens back.

thanks for the suggestion and clarifying. I'll be sure to try that out
The mouse feet on my FK1 are starting to wear very thin. Do I need to lens-mod it like an FK'14 or can I just buy feet?
you can't mod an fk1 like that.
you can always buy replacement feet (goes for fk14 too) but thicker than stock ones are not an option on the fk1 cause it won't track anything.

That's fine, I don't need thicker feet. So can I get replacement feet online at like Amazon, or do I have to get them straight from Zowie?

could get them from ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tiger-Gaming-Zowie-AM-FK-Mouse-Feet-0-45mm-/111026464015?var=&hash=item5f7fa48686
reviews on those (tiger gaming) feet are very positive.
if you prefer amazon, they probably sell them as well. another plenty-mentioned brand is "hotline gaming".
i'd say hyperglides are better, but they cost significantly more (like 3 times as much).
