As far as I can tell you can just change the Viewer in a link to Controller and it's no longer read only. Might be useful to be able to give out the viewer links without everybody being able to update

It does presuppose that members of your team don't want to sabotage your team talk, but if it's a serious problem I can beef up security. I do point out in the docs that it's possible but undesirable. Any saved work should definitely be safe.

Is there any chance you're going to implement diffrent maps as well? (I'm mostly talking about HL maps)

GentlemanJonSideshow did all the map screen grabs and it was for i55 so it has a 6v6 focus. I'm happy to add Highlander maps but I'll need someone who knows what they're looking for and is willing to put some thought into it to grab the best images. Ideally someone used to leading map talks and who has played at a decent enough level to pick good angles. Any volunteers just add me or post here or whatever.

Looking for volunteers really. 1080p, graphics set to decent quality, useful angles based on insight. It doesn't have to be perfect but I really have no idea what HL map talks will need to be able to point out to their team.

I would be willing to try Upward or something, we can see if that works? Do you want me to do that?

I'm happy to volunteer for taking screenshots, I run TF2 on high graphics and in 1080p but I'm not exactly super experienced in HL so maybe it'd be better if someone else did it? If not though I'll happily do it.
How many penises did you draw when you were testing the sharing aspect?
You can make use of map images on comp.tf. Most map pages have high quality 1080p images for the different points.

I appreciate the offer but the coverage is a bit patchy, I think it'll need quite a lot more images per map to be able to provide all the options people might need (unless I'm missing something).

Cocoforcocopuffs is having a go at a payload map, so non-payload might be Lakeside or if you're feeling brave cp_steel. Steel might be one of the HL maps that would get some heavy strategy work on it so it and it's also pretty big so would need to be a good job.

hmm, most maps have every main view. Only the overhead view is missing from map pages, the rest we have pretty much every main points / choke, maybe the angles are not the best but I dont think it's that patchy, at least for all currently played maps. Nonetheless if you have someone helping out taking more screens we would appreciate them over at our wiki as well, can never have too much

The issue I can see with cp_steel is that it's got so many narrow corridors that are all really important that it's nearly impossible to get one screenshot of say, the E point which could show all the areas. Even a birdseye view of the E point wouldn't quite suffice because it doesn't show the C-E connector area down the stairs, the area outside of the RED spawn door (which is enclosed) or either of the sniper nests.
I think you would need maybe 2-3 screenshots for the more complex/enclosed points and maybe only 1-2 for easier points like B which would probably be doable with 1 screenshot thinking about it.
I'm not around for most of the day or evening today but I'll have a crack at it tomorrow if you like, hit me up on steam and we can talk some more :)
EDIT: I got bored - here's my attempt at cp_steel, no doubt some of these will be utterly useless/shite but hopefully you'll like some of them. The later ones in the list are better because these are listed in reverse chronological order and the later screenshots are niche pictures of little nooks and crannies like the RED spawn exit to B or the C-D connector, hope you like some of them!

That's a cool resource but it's slightly different to tactics.tf in as much as you can't place markers on it so if you wanted to show your team where to stand on an E defence then this wouldn't be much good to you

Steel's geometry is a massive pain in the ass on almost every point, some special measures might be required. Rem has done as good a job as is possible given the constraints of the map and the TF2 client itself, although there need to be some overheads mixed in as well on outside points for those who want them. Getting a decent E point image is impossible.

Yes my mistake, I misread the source that I got it from. The minimum is -10 not -1. Apologies, I'll edit the original.
Woops nevermind looks like I was right the first time:
As of the June 10, 2010 Patch, mat_picmip is locked between -1 and 4, corresponding to the settings which have always been available in the game's menu under the "Texture detail" dropdown. This was done to address "significant performance and instability issues" for some users.

If people are making new screenshots I recommend using SFM. Making a SFM poster is easily the highest quality you can get for something like this and I did it a few times for people doing map-type things. Here's a quick tutorial I wrote during this super fucking boring Theater class: http://pastebin.com/tsTa8cf2
Really nice job man. My team and I reviewed sunshine today and the visualization really helped. I'm actually very impressed. Hopefully sometime in the future, the admin of the current session can allow a teammate to plot the items.
Is it possible to have this type of thing but with a spectator-esque view? Like how when you're spectating in any server and can move freely; something like that?

This is the next update I'm working on, a request button to ask the session controller to switch control to them. The session creator will always have the ability to take it back.
Knuckles_If people are making new screenshots I recommend using SFM.
Could also be handy getting some difficult Steel images
