Hey my old wrist rest that i bought from best buy finally tore apart from all it's use. I'm looking to pick up another one off of amazon preferably. Keep in mind i only need it for my right, mouse, hand and not a full keyboard one but i would love suggestions so i don't have to make another purchase soon! my budget is 50$ btw

Moritzarent wrist rests actually terrible for your wrists?

On one side of the debate, it is known that leaning the wrists on a wrist rest or the edge of the desk for long periods can put a lot of pressure on the undersides of the wrists. This pressure may cause carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) to develop. On the other hand, evidence shows that wrist rests alleviate tension in the neck and shoulders.

Both views can be challenged.

Your hands need to float above the keyboard when you type to avoid developing carpal tunnel. I've found that a wrist rest allows me to be lazy and not keep my hands in the right position, so I don't use one. YMMV.

That being said, massdrop currently has multiple drops for wooden palm rests going on right now, you might consider one of those if you're so inclined.

I have my whole setup super far back and I scooch right in so that I can have my elbows on my desk as I use my keyboard and mouse.

Me desk is wider than my bed so maybe that wouldn't be possible with a normal desk

The proper position for you arms is that your elbow should be level with the surface you are one, so your arms should for 90 degree angles.

Either you want a lower desk/external keyboard in a tray, or a higher chair.

I had a case of CT back in college, and I alternated between a wrist rest and a dinner mat (lol) as a mousepad for the longest time. Haven't had pain in the longest time.

Point being, you don't really need a wrist rest to keep your wrists healthy. Keep them level, and wring them out often.
