Thoughts? If the pixart sensor they end up using is good, the $40 price seems too good to be true.

sensor is a modified 3050.

shape looks nice, would really like to know what the weight without the cable is though.

also use coupon code AYDREN10 if you're ordering it from the steelseries website (thanks to overclock.net user bond10!)

from what I've read, it seems to be a potential g303 alternative. no acceleration/smoothing, max tracking speed above 4m/s, nice price, and doesn't have the really dumb shape the g303 has.

here's a size comparison:

looks pretty good!

if it has everything the g303 has and it doesn't have the g303 shape and considering how cheap it is. i'm definitely going to buy it. this looks really good.

its sensor isn't nearly as high quality as the g303 afaik, it's more like an improved g100s sensor. still good, but certainly not better than any 3310/3090 mouse. shape looks good though, hopefully not too heavy like the original rival

Which mice currently have the sensor quality of the g303?

AvastWhich mice currently have the sensor quality of the g303?

only the g303 and the g502. having said that, the g303 has bewilderingly bad ergonomics and the g502 is very heavy even without the weights, so I wouldn't really recommend them. this mouse looks super promising, I can't think of any other mouse with the same value for money

Yeah I was thinking about just keeping my g303 until this once came out, or getting the za 13

just ordered one, we'll see how it is, currently use g100s with weight removed, tried the g303 but the shape was awful

Always wondered about SteelSeries mice, looks like this one is a really quality one to tryout.

Also, it says the mouse tops out at 4000 dpi. over 8 steps. Anyone know the increments then? My guess would be 500, 1000, 1500, etc.

springrollssensor is a modified 3050.

Into the trash it goes.
Seriously i would pay the extra 10$ for a 3310. I have no idea why Steelseries always uses such subpar sensors in their mice. It is a shame sense there mice shapes look like something i would use.

Looks like i am going with the Mionix Castor.

Received mine today. Here's a size comparison of the Rival 100, Zowie FK, and Razer Deathadder 2014.

It has a downloadable configuration tool called Engine (screenshot), similar to Razer Synapse, however it does not require you to make an account. The LEDs can be changed to just about any color you want, other effect option are Breathe (slowly fade in and out) and ColorShift, which scrolls through one of four preset color palettes.
Engine includes a program called GameSense (screenshot), which allows you to change the LED based on certain conditions like low health or kills and whatnot. Downside is, it's currently only active for CS:GO, DOTA, and Minecraft.

250, 500, 1000, 1250, 1500, 1750, 2000, 4000

Neat customization features aside, this thing has a fat ass. The Deathadder is ergonomic, but it's hourglass shaped. This one feels like they wanted to do something similar, but gave up halfway. I'm kind of disappointed that although they have a nice configuration tool, they don't have a whole lot of options for DPI below 1000, plus coming from the Zowie with 1150 DPI it's kind of awkward having to jump +/- 100 dpi, but that's just a personal thing.

TL;DR: Mouse has good customization options, is pretty cheap ($35.99 + free QcK mousepad), got booty, but awkward sensitivity stages.

Bumping this -- I currently bought mine and am not satisfied with it. Doesn't feel right in my hand compared to other mice I have used and I am just not used to having a sensor with such limited DPI (for me)

I could probably sell it to anyone who wants it. Not sure if that's breaking any rules here, but if someone can use it while it rots in my closet, it would make me happy.

i bought this mouse

it's good

i don't like that dpi is in increments of 500

i like the rgb color

i like the feel, it's a good weight and the grip is good for my claw grip

it is not ambidextrous

side buttons feel good
