This is a good news for all of you who have any kind of Linux interest. Valve made the Steam for Linux (beta) open to public. I have been in the closed beta for over a month now and I can tell you this stuff is good if you like Linux.

For those who play in ESEA I would not recommend you to try this out since the ESEA client doesn't work under Linux. Everything else has been very smooth for me, I can tell you I am a satisfied gamer with this setup: http://stats.atf2.org/log/dallas_1355911200_badlands/

If you have below an AMD 5000 and 12.10ubuntu, the drivers basically don't support tf2.

Yes, what I posted above doesn’t show that, but there is currently a bug in Steam on Linux that makes it uses 100% CPU all the time while TF2 is running.
