Kinda dead-ish though, perhaps promoting it in the article will help liven it up.

It could probably be used for pugs, maybe add more voice and text channels for people to chat in?

Personally my problem with it is that if I'm in another channel, I can still get the message notification even if I don't have that channel open.

Yeah the Discord seems like a no brainer. Do we just need to promote it better?
How should be using it? Just as a place to congregate? A promotional tool? Point of contact?
I should mention there is also a tftv group on last.fm, but it seems like groups have been dropped in the new beta?
Do we have any other pre-existing groups dotted around?
Skype is a DDOS risk?! Looking in to GroupMe...

the upcoming events sidebar could be clearer too
hltv is a really dated website but the one thing they get right is their upcoming matches sidebar

I always thought that a shortened url for this site would be very useful, if people want to tag themselves the link is a bit long atm, tf2.tv is owned by arx and beta but as they aren't involved much any more maybe it could be added to the teamfortress tv empire

maybe it should be made clearer in the original post, as the steam link where you'd expect to do that is to the TFTV group, not profile

tf.gg redirects here and that is short enough

I know it's a difficult task, but other e-sports have a strong foothold on Twitter. With Twitter, one simply cannot tweet often enough and it should be utilized for a lot more than just standard announcements. Retweeting, promoting teams and events...there are dozens of opportunities a day to boost your profile on Twitter.
I love the idea of expanding your content on YouTube. Players have an almost insatiable appetite for knowledge about the game and its players, so player spotlight interviews, mentoring vids, etc. would be useful and draw more attention to the channel. I guess I see the current channel being used as a repository for past content, which is awesome, but I feel it could be so much more.

Couldn't agree more with you both counts. We had been experimenting with tweeting our more than just our events, but definitely didn't stay the course on that front.
The run up to matchmaking is an exciting time and it would be great to see competitive sites like teamfortress.tv, comp.tf, etc. poised with some fresh content.
Any creation of content beyond what we are already putting out will require new volunteers to join our staff.
So if you have ideas and/or skills feel free to start a dialogue here!

i had no idea there even was a discord until this thread and i'm on here all the time. honestly think using it as a social gathering place is easiest since you won't have to regulate/admin as much, if at all. a few voice channels for pubbing, dm, mge, pugs, maybe even spectator rooms for people to watch events and talk to each other. given the amount of socializing i've endured in the newbie mix mumble i think something like this would be gratefully accepted if people feel comfortable using it. i like the idea of not having 27 different mumbles saved and just being able to say "meet me in the tftv discord" instead. adding more text channels is a good idea too... i mean, it's free so might as well get the most out of it. the more people use it the more they get their friends to use it it's just free advertising for tftv providing yet another community service :)

I've added some new videos to the Steam account and will be aiming to promote all our media there moving forward in 2016.
We were able to get on the frontpage of the TF2 Steam Community Hub with the DreamHack poster etc so I think we should make a habit of this.
Navigate to steam.teamfortress.tv and select Follow from the More dropdown menu to get our content in your Steam feed.
