I spent way too much time in kz maps (climbing) in 1.6. Looks pretty cool though, reminds me of zombie mods where you needed to boost and sacrifice people to get to better places.

Yeah I think the point was to maintain all the good elements of CS 1.6 and also introduce some new ideas that came from CS:S and maybe some other games. The big advantage of this (at least to someone like me who likes to compete in this sort of stuff) is that there is a whole timer system set up with clear world records, demo submission, etc., much like Quake 3 Defrag has.
