Tune in January 6th, 2013 to see gamers speed run different games from all consoles. This is a 6 day marathon for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. Just thought I would let people know in case they were interested.

I wasted a lot of this week watching Cosmo speedrun Zelda games. Definitely entertaining stuff. I think SpeedRunsLive did one for Hurricane Sandy too, glitches ftw.

the best speedruns are where they completely and utterly break the game's coding
eg; megaman, zelda

Cosmo did a OoT all medallion run. Mind fuck that people figured out how to glitch cutscenes. Also found out that Dodongo was the final boss.

i've watched all of the agdq runs on youtube and most of the library on srl, that said IM super pumped for this.
Started learning to run yoshi's island too, hopefully one day I can race and be good at it.

Cosmo is amazing at speedruns, especially his ~22 minute OoT speedrun.

I love how Cosmo can explain all the tricks he does, and pull them off so well at the same time. I really liked his super monkey ball run from last year.

super mario rpg last year was really good, but I still agree with you. If you need something to watch though they are pretty good time killers.

No mention of pydoyks? That guy is insane, cut so much time off the any% and MST records in OoT. Also if anyone likes MM you should watch ennopp, pretty much got the two other MM runners to stop because he was too good.

wow, I watched an earlier HL speed run that was either 45 minutes or 1:15+. Can't believe how much faster this one is.

I highly recommend you check out Miles play some Metroid Prime (1 and 2) and Super Monkey Ball. Surprisingly it seems like few people know about him, but he has an any% metroid prime run under an hour and a 100% time of 1:19, 5 minutes faster than the speed demos archive's segmented run where the runner said
I think the perfect time for a TAS (tool-assisted) Metroid Prime Single-segment 100% speedrun would be maybe around 1:20. That's the time a programmed bot could get, but for us humans 1:20 is impossible.
Here is the run uploaded to youtube if you want to watch:

There is nobody close in terms of skill when it comes to these games.
