idk why it was so short, the whole thing seemed to be in a mostly playable state. Other than the fact that I had to play ctf for one match everything ran smoothly.

There were lobbies going like 2x10 or 4x8

Manged to play in 2 before it went down. Hadn't played 6s since September 2012 newbie mixes. Even with people running full time sniper, heavy, pyro, and teammates offclassing 75%+ on engie and spy it was fun.
Really funny to see them discussing why 2 spies, sniper, engie, medic, and soldier failed to cap last and got rolled after push failed (I was the newb on pocket). Looking forward to purchasing the pass.

They were just testing the matchmaking, presumably they shut it off once they felt they had enough games and they plan to do this again at some point after they analyze the data and make whatever improvements they need to

wouldn't be surprised it was an accidental release seeing as there was no news at all from valve's side of things. aside from a few small bugs, it was mostly playable.

aaaand back to being one of like 60 people with a mm pass... aka not being able to play it at all until more passes are handed out.
Was really fun though. Really, really fun - even though I was tired as shit and didn't perform well. Excited for more.

They said there would be unannounced stress tests, so it was likely an intentional stress test.
fnmWill you get a pass if you have a custom hud?
If you get chosen, yes.

It was playable but there was stuff like half the servers being located in Europe or something and stuff like HUDs and PREC having to be removed which I doubt they anticipated. They probably want most people's first experiences matchmaking to be as perfect as possible.

To be fair huds and prec have caused crashing in numerous updates before this. That's nothing new. The server thing was weird, but not really unexpected for a beta. I'm just saying it seemed stable enough for more than 2 hours, maybe 12 or so so a few different time zones could test it.

It appears that people who own self-mades are able to queue after the stress test is over, even without having a pass. At least I and a few other people on facepunch can. Interesting, I'm not sure if this is intentional.
I used flamehud and had no problems at all, except for the game stuttering a lot for a while when going to any kind of menu, resulting in me having to play with crit cola because I couldn't go to items to switch from my pub loadout.
Chat was broken after the round was over, but fine during the game. The game itself ran great, steady fps and it even put me in a euro server, which quickplay totally doesn't.

Spartan, are u from SPUF?

So for those who played it: How was it and how much stuff was forced on?

pushing out of last is impossible cause backcaps and disorganisation. as far as how much stuff was forced on, it seemed like my models were still on low but most stuff was forced to default, everything looked a lot brighter. i wouldn't be surprised if they kept the cvars related to the graphical options unlocked and locked everything else. i was also on dx9 by default so idk about dx8.
viewmodels were locked to 50 or something which was weird af, but for some reason when i changed rocket launcher from stock my crosshair switcher started working (r_drawviewmodels 1/0) but viewmodel_fov was still locked.
