Looking to get a new mouse as I'm on a Cobra E-Blue atm.
I've been looking at the deathadder, ec1-a and steelseries sensei, but seeing as my current £15 budget mouse has lasted me so long and so well, I was wondering which mouse is the best in terms of lifetime and not-breaking-ness.
Heard a few horror stories for all 3 mice and I really don't fancy spending another £40 or so 6 months later when the mouse breaks.
Thanks

Coolermaster sentinel 3. The most solid mouse I've ever used, super comfortable and easy to adjust DPI settings (and generally excellent software). Really worth the money, very durable
AFAIK, Zowie has made some consistently good, no-fuss mice, although they did have many quality issues with it's new BenQ refresh series, which has already been recalled.
The Sensei is old and has inherent accel w/ it's laser sensor, if you care about "flawless" sensors.
I've heard a lot about Razer quality issues, especially considering the pricing, but the early Deathadder was pretty good.
I'm currently using a Mionix Avior 7000, which has held up pretty well.
If you really want to get deep into finding the perfect mouse solution for you, this guide is pretty thorough: https://geekhack.org/?topic=56240.0 and has many reviews for a ton of different mice.

While I love my Logitech G500, I wouldn't recommend it for durability. The mouse itself is very durable and will last a while, but it has an awful cord that will start to fray and lose connection. It seems to go bad after about a year.
I had the original Zowie FK '14 for two years and it was still in perfect condition when I decided to replace it just for the hell of it with the EC2-A. The EC2-A has been very good for me as well for close to a year now.
I like Zowie mice

CM Sentinel 3 is a very solid mouse, is a bit on the heavy side and the sensor isn't the best available.
Another really good one is the Mionix Castor, it's incredibly well made and at the moment I cannot fault it's quality but it's probably over your budget.
If you don't want to stretch much more than £40 then I'd recommend:
Gigabyte XM300 - Pretty much a DA clone uses a 3988 sensor
CM Sentinel 3 - More palm grip shape, heavy as stated and a 3988 sensor
Zowie mice are also worth a shout but some do have a few flaws, mainly with scroll wheels not being the greatest, but most are fine and should last you a while.

Yeah definitely not Razer, Deathadders seem to frequently get scrollwheel issues where a plastic connector thingy fails leading to reverse or double inputs. Also Razer Synapse is broken af and slowly strangles your system if you don't frequently reboot: https://www.facebook.com/razer/posts/10152635166407576

Not meaning to derail the thread, but does anyone know of any waterproof mice? My roof is leaking water and it's messing with my current mouse

my ec2 lived for 4 years and now im using g400 wich lived for 2 years and both work perfectly fine, it also really matters how you behave with your mouse, dont smash it if you get mad in tf2 etc
in g400 case make sure cable is in a good position cause it tends to die for some people

Most mice are relatively durable and should function for a couple of years, allowing for feet replacement. Most mice that have issues that cause them not to work (Like some of the logitech ones with the dodgy cable) are normally reported and found out pretty early on.
The two mice I've used with the best feeling build quality are the Roccat Kone Pure Military and the Mionix Castor. Both feel very nice to hold and have good button presses.
KPM needs to have its firmware updated to the latest version to fix bugs with the mouse and the shape is something some people might not like, might throw mouse's balance off for some people. This mouse does have really nice buttons and a great scrollwheel and feels really comfortable (imo).
Castor is more expensive, has less clicky feeling buttons but a very nice material. It's probably nice to palm but has 2 finger grooves on the right hand side which force your finger positions which made it uncomfortable to aim in game with for me although palming it for desktop use is nice.
I've also heard good things from a quality and price perspective about the EVGA Torq X5 if you're into ambi mice but it does have a glossy coating which most people don't like.

Second to this. I love the mouse and only keep using it because logitech covers it with a 3 year warranty, but I've gone through 4 in about 7 years. It's always the cord that goes. Other than the first one I replaced, they were completely fine about sending me new mice every time I had an issue. Didn't even have to send it back.

Fix your roof instead of fixing your mouse is what he's trying to say. It was a bit self explanatory.

Most mice aren't very durable, and ones that are are pretty much luck. I've heard of people using FK's, Deathadders, MX518's and WMOs for several years but most break long before that.
A good alternative is using the RMA process. Even if they don't advertise it, if you email a company and tell them that you really liked [mouse] but it broke on you, they'll replace it and all you have to pay is to ship the old one back. Obviously, to do this you need 2 mice. I've received RMA mice from razer (2x), logitech (3x) and roccat.

if you invest in a mouse bungee or simply tape the cable with a bit of slack to the edge of your desk as G400 / G400s works great. I've had my G400 since 2012 used it until 2014 and got a G400s and now I use that same g400 at work.
Omnific is mirroring some retard shitposter from ages ago who came on here to talk about ghosts and ask for a waterproof monitor and computer. He then went on to say he could just cover his setup with a tarp or some shit
Thanks for all the advice guys, I will keep it all in mind :)
