I know the Logitech MX518 and Razer DeathAdder had great results for a really long time and still do, but I'm not really sure on the newer mice. I'm pretty sure the Logitech G5 is also a good mouse as well. I haven't really had an issue with the MX518 other than the mouse cord shorting out on literally three different MX518's, and my DeathAdder just recently had mouse buttons 3/4/5 all stop working consistently after about four years.
You can usually find a good deal on refurbished DeathAdders on www.woot.com if you scroll down a bit (and a few other Razer mice, but I know DeathAdder gets the most praise). I usually see a Razer sale on woot about once a month. However, I know a handful of people who complained about their Razer product malfuctioning only a month or two after getting it. I think their warranty is decent, though.

I recommend the Zowie AM. Either that or a deathadder
Thanks Guys I am leaning towards the DeathAdder since it suits my claw grip.
The 2 big problems I've had with razer products is that they are often broken or break very quickly, the first two death adder's I ordered were DOA.
The second thing is that Razer's utility program is the shittiest I've ever seen for a mouse or just in general, it somehow manages to be worse than Logitech's Setpoint

Razer is known for being somewhat unreliable in terms of manufacturing quality, but people do like the deathadder. The MX518 was a great mouse; its only real fault was the USB's connection to the mouse, which was prone to coming loose. Mine failed after over four years of more or less daily use. The G400 is the replacement for the MX518; it fixed a few minor issues (angle snapping, whiny capacitors) but by and large the design is identical. Some people are concerned because the cord on the G400 is thinner than on the 518, and apparently the cord-shorts-out thing still happens from time to time with the G400. The G500 is the laser version of the G400 pretty much (if you like lasers—I personally don't). A lot of people like the Zowie AM and ec2 but I can't comment on their reliability since I have not used either. You might be able to scrounge up an intellimouse if you search hard, though they are also known to break down—they weren't exactly designed with hardcore gaming in mind.
Zowie AM
Zowie EC 1/2 eVo
Logitech g400
I cannot recommend DeathAdder. Has to many build quality issues.

ive had the same death adder for over 2 years now, never a single problem it. i wouldn't use anything else at this point its just what im used to. again this is personal preference. using a puretrak talent as well its a great combo
I've had my DA for about 3 years now. only problem is that the mouse wheel encoder sometimes messes up, but otherwise I wouldn't use another mouse.
There's at least one of these a week. Just do a quick forum search and you'll find them.

SS Sensei.
Razer DA is good, but personally I don't like.

I've always thought the deathadder was for a palm grip honestly. Are you guys sure it's a claw grip? A big reason I stopped using it and bought my g500 is because the deathadder is small IMO and difficult to control using a claw grip. The contour of the DA made it fit my palm nice and secure but I just prefer to claw.
i along with many people so far recommend the deathadder
Deathadder is for any palm grip and fingertip grip of people with large hands. Doesn't go well with claw grips really.
The only mouse I'd buy if my Deathadder dies it'd be the EC1.

wouldn't a smaller mouse be ideal for a claw grip? With a palm grip you have a more secure grip on the mouse itself and are applying more pressure to it, whereas the claw grip is the opposite

I love my G500 but I have huge hands and palm it. Also, I have had two cables fray over 18 months, eventually breaking the cord connection, but they've been great about sending me a replacement for free each time (3 year warranty, did not have to return original).
i switched from a DA to a g400 and im never going back.
I really liked my MX518 for a long time
but I like my Sensei Raw more.

wareya#23 is exactly right
depends on how large your hands are....

Tooni#3 How is DA a claw grip mouse?
it's both smaller and lighter than the g500/g400 and it's also got indentations on the m1 and m2 that support the claw grip pointer/middle finger positions.
