Is that the only thing UGC excels at
having a website that actually looks okay-ish
having a website that actually looks okay-ish
ugc looks okay but its a mess to navigate so id rather use etf2l anyday
Beta ETF2L looks way better than any other league site
UGC's site is the worst of any of them, including ETF2L's mess.
you guys think so??? etf2l afl and esea look super messy to me :\
The one time I had to use the UGC website for anything because someone convinced me to roster up for their 4s team (that was my first mistake) I must've spent a good 10 minutes just ranting about how bad the web design was in Mumble
Shiny trash is still trash

no one likes your dm server to have class limits either, m4ngol
ffs remove it so we can actually dm

old etf2l is so nice, the beta is so horrible
ugc is unusable as well as esea

ETF2L's problem is not aesthetic (though it does look old), the problem is that the design doesn't make the website easy to use for a new player to come in and find their info quickly, AND the way the website actually functions uses some hodge-podge wordpress plugins which are very limiting and counter-intuitive. The beta doesn't fix any of that, it's just like spray painting a turd.
I like the ETF2L classic look way more than beta. As far as function, yeah it could use some more guidance to new players but once you get used to it's fairly easy to use, unlike UGC which is just a big old mess where something like finding a team can be stupidly hard.
Firewhat ugc website are you talking about :^)
I see what you did there! ;-)

CEVO website was by far the worst
I find ESEA the best but maybe I'm crazy?

and ugc does lol

Neither of them do, there isn't a single league in TF2 whose website is easy to use for new players. There's a ton of pug sites that are simple to use, guide websites, news websites etc. but leagues always manage to make the user interface convoluted.
I don't understand why everyone used to complain that the ozfortress website was confusing, it is actually fairly linear. Just like any other forum. Admittedly it is not pretty.
Until my IM season ESEA was super confusing to use.
ETF2L seems at least more logical/functional than UGC, mainly seems to have layout issues. I'd say the most difficult part of navigating etf2l is managing stuff to do with your own team, making recruitment posts etc. Just browsing the website and finding people's profiles/matchpages etc is easy enough to do which is more than can be said for ESEA/UGC most of the time.
The number of times I've had to explain to people how to put up a recruitment post is more than you'd expect though. It really is a barrier to entry.

UGC is long overdue to redesign their website layout.
have you ever tried to use a ugc leader panel
why the fuck is your team picture tied to a steam group
why does your team description have a character limit
actually no it doesn't tell you a character limit just cuts it off if you have too many chars

My favorite part about the leader panel is that in the match comms section, there's no character limit. The only time last season I checked my match comms, I saw that before our match against $$, pellovely had copypasted the entirety of Moby Dick into it.

ETF2L's website is built on a really customised wordpress backend. Upgrading it will take a long time. The beta was set up by our coders but since then we've had people come and go, thus our development team has been spread out and the release of the beta got delayed indefinitely
I think that everyone will claim that whichever league they play the most has the best site since they're used to it. When I started to play etf2l the site looked like a tangled nightmare but now I'm inclined to say that it's pretty good since I already know where to find everything. It's all just personal experience ig
