I feel like France and Spain have the strongest squads but both lack a designated leader so they might have a hard time once it gets to knickout stages
dancefloorIt was an incredible performance put out by ukraine against the world cup winners. Shame they didnt get a goal or two.
Hem sorry ? Ukraine was amazingly poor tonight, only relying on its wingers to do something. Germany was more a threat to itself than Ukraine was (Boateng and Neuer weren't as reassuring as they sould have been). Götze was awful, so was Özil. Hopefully Kroos and Khedira were very good.
So far every team lacked consistency (couldnt watch Spain unfortunatly), it confirms that no team is arguably better than the others.
I liked Poland and Croatia, should be interesting to see them against better opposition (Germany-Poland will be sick I hope).
Hallowi know nothing but my love for zlatan
haha i saw so many sweden fans today in the streets, that was cool :p

The problem with Spain is that they take too many touches when they have the ball, and they always try to find that "perfect" pass. If Spain doesn't change this, they will probably end up losing to Croatia and maybe even Turkey.
This is how they won two euros and one world cup, hard to change this when it was so successful.

The fuck? Götze Boateng and Neuer were the stars of the game? They held the defense together on their own, everyone else was lacking. Boateng and Neuer were excellent.

Götze ? I believe you meant Boateng.
I didnt say they were bad, I said they weren't as reassuring as they should have been. Boateng's long balls were very poor in the first half, and he did one or two small mistakes on the second half.
Neuer did okay on his line, but some of his plays were discutable (yes, im talking about when he tried to go for the ball outside of the box in the end, not communicating with Mustafi, and then doing somewhat of a foul on the ukrainian, that could have a been a penalty imo).
Dont get me wrong, they're both excellent players, and they had a good game. But against better teams, stuff like that will be punished.

Yes I mean boateng wtf lol. Götze was cery meh. But what you pounted out was Neuer's only misplay imo, and his saves were excellent. I really don't think that this game would have been 1:0 for so long with almost any other keeper. As for Boateng, I thibk the first half was mostly really bad coordination in the defense, don't think there was a problem with Boateng specifically.
The whole game was a bit wonky, but I think this will very much be fixed in terms of coordination and tactics. Almost 100% sure Schweinsteiger is gonna be in next game for this very reason.

I wont ever understand why Hamrén would put Berg on instead of Guidetti, clearly the chemistry between him and Z is far superior than between berg and Z. Also Larsson and Källström should quit already, so many wrong passes and their touch is horrendous.
We got so many talents from the u21 team that won the u21-euros and yet they sit on the bench... smh Hamrén

Hopefully some of you EU guys can help me understand a few questions.
1-- When it comes to FIFA and the World Cup, how do the rankings they post factor in to who qualifies for the Cup?
2-- The FIFA rankings seem to be unfair. What I mean by that is if you look at the top 100, the majority of teams are in the EU and after that the Americas have a decent number. Beyond that, you need to go to 32nd to find the first African Confederation team and 39th to find the first Asian Confederation team.
I looked deeper at the schedules for some of these teams for 2015 and 2016. I found that most teams simply play teams in their own Confederations. Since EU has, by far, the most high ranking teams, doesn't that make the rankings biased towards EU teams keeping a higher rank? I mean, how can the Asian or African teams break into the top 10 or top 5 unless they play or beat teams around that rank?

Was really pulling for Ireland there, the Swedes didn't look like they had a ton of ideas there honestly.

FIFA rankings are fairly meaningless, and the method is pretty poor. I'm fairly sure it's to do with how many competitive games each team wins, i.e qualifiers/tournaments, but this leaves situations such as France being ranked 17th because they didn't have to play any qualifiers for the euros because they are hosts

Despite all their injuries Italy are looking super solid. Belgium really need to get Hazard and De Bruyne more involved. Lukaku's hold up play is super sloppy right now too.
I really underestimated giaccherini, didnt expect him to get the goal. But holy fuck what a pass by bonucci, incredible.
Man both of Belgium's strikers, Lukaku and Origi SO WASTEFUL
goddamn it, someone stop them now, before it's too late!
fuck, and I had a chimay in the fridge waiting to be unbottled when we would score a goal too. that first goal by Italy was pure sex

Man, Portugal with the really bad luck again. Super entertaining game though. So much running on both sides holy shit.

I have barely watched Ronaldo play since he left Man United but when he was there he used to get played on the wing, run at players and cut inside to devastating effect. These days he seems to be operating as a striker, considering his goal scoring record it makes sense, he's an all round player, pace, good in the air, skillful, can finish but with this Portuguese team he gets the service of a customer at Pizza Hut. Most of Portugal's crosses hit the first man in the second half, corners were poor or went short, lack of movement around the box. Iceland were good value, Sigurosson could walk into a lot of international teams.
Don't Portugal have a decent striker anymore, can't they put someone upfront with Ronaldo or put him on the wing? They look so bang average, they don't look like a team to me.

Sure do, switched them all in during the last 10 minutes, bit late maybe
Despite everything, Portugal was the far superior team throughout (except the first half of the second half, that was dodgy), with 30+ decent attempts it shouldn't be 1-1.

30+??????? what are you on about, portugal had 5 decent goal scoring attempts iceland had 2. Also portugal looked very uncreative up front, if i supported portugal I would be so annoyed with the play they played considering the talent they have and how poor iceland were.
