Super hype series, especially for a LAN finale
Super sad as well it had to be cut short

Fucking trauma flashbacks from formula student and exams.
I hold nothing against dreamhack for that; if an event runs over time in a venue like that, you have to pull the plug.
Edit: Oh props to sideshow (and admirable) for giving such a professional and clear explanation of what happened.

AT LEAST please remember EVERY PLAYER to take their demo off the pc!
flyyyyhow many lans did thalash win?
Half?
Half?
Alright so here's the story from someone who was there live. The LAN is played in a special area where all the showbooths are at DREAMHACK and that area officially closes at 21:00 or 21:30 (not sure) and ALL the other booths was closed when the Dreamhack security asked the TF2 people to leave. This was not a act of disrespect by the Dreamhack security but a Rule following action aswell as nice of them to let the teams finish Viaduct/Product.
This may only be my opinion but I don't think Dreamhack did anything wrong, the tf2 was just unlucky with the length of maps earlier.
Btw when I was asked to leave the area I had to ask them to remove the gates they had already put there to restrict the area.
Pls don't hate me

How is that disrespectful? What do you expect them to do?
You can't really tie an n amount of people down to look after this stuff, when a time schedule has been given a long time ago, and it has been exceeded by a mile by Sideshows own words. Don't go blaming DH for that.

yea but cs is an eSport .
seeing comments on r/tf2 of people who watched comp tf2 for their first time and then this sort of shit happening really makes you think...

CS are an official part of the tournament, we're the guests of a local exhibitor who have to operate under different conditions. Also CS may have their scheduling game down a bit better.

F1 (one of, if not the, biggest motorsport) sometimes runs out of time on rare occasions, and the event organizers literally say "throw down the checkered flag, right now, and everyone out within 2 hours". Shit like this just happens sometimes. Some sports are even build around having to deal with this being a likely outcome of the competition (though a race has the advantage of always having a guy in 1st place at any given time).

Reading the comments apart from the frustration they're actually mostly positive, getting invested and finding the matches exciting. Good to know

I can't begin to imagine how frustrating and disappointing this was for the players and crew. Even though it may be annoying to see chat whinging about every single technical fuck up, I hope you still remember that we all deeply appreciate the immense effort you put into the stream.
That Viaduct game was so good...
