23:05 - Buttnose: if £5k landed in your lap to carry on working on tf2 stuff would you do it?
23:06 - Sideshow#2580: yeah
23:07 - Buttnose: excellent
23:07 - Sideshow#2580: I mean I'd do the streaming and overwatch stuff too but yeah
i also overheard something about a selection of viewer selected events including but not limited to: headspinning dorito challenge, meme wheel, top5 babyfood + potato recipes, 1 day in a box, and adult diaper disco duel?

this news is not really new, was waiting for this thread for a while
for tf2 losing someone as passionate about the game that is giving him barely any income in return is like losing an arm. a curly, chokey, not able to drink water properly but an arm so devoted to spreading the word and making the game big, trying its hardest to get more sponsorship and interest into it;
I honestly will miss almost daily streams, insanely horrible but irresistibly funny plays, lots of in-game insight, rants, discussions and just an open and kind person that is Sideshow, in a world of all serious black-suits-wearing money-obsessed afraid-to-make-fool-of-themselves grumps who make everything they touch into money machine a person like Sideshow is the best representation of tf2 as a whole - funny, somewhat clumsy, honest and yet dedicated to his job, endlessly smart and just someone who enjoys what he's doing not because of the amount of digits involved in process
I wish you besteriest of luck in whatever you will do (even if that means casting overwatch) and of course hope to see you later on i58 and whatever other tf2-involved project

We should raise money to buy sideshow a house
We could honestly do it if we tried, and it could do more for the community than using the money to send a team to LAN

Even though all I did during your stream was shit talk you and spam ear rape donations I really enjoyed your stream. I'll miss it a lot. It was genuinely incredible and made me a very happy person. Good luck with life and I hope you can come back to tf2 someday. You're the hero we need and don't deserve.
You're still bad at worms btw.

I'd be hard pressed to find someone who's worked harder to build the tf2 comp scene than sideshow

I'm leaving because I recently got excluded from my university course (for reasons I won't go into) and therefore have to prioritise my future. I was barely scraping by with my stream income and sources from Overwatch - a choice I made consciously because I enjoyed what I was doing, no issues there, but it doesn't make sense to keep floating on rather than trying to make something of my work life. So I'm moving back in with my parents and finding a job to earn money to pay for a new degree or get training for another career. My family would also be rather annoyed if I went from student doctor to a full time memer.
In terms of dropping TF2 and streaming, but carrying on with OW writing/casting, it's just a case of work vs. reward. In the limited time I'll have outside working, I can't justify putting in hours of volunteer work for TF2 tournaments or coverage. It's fairly satisfying but it's quite a bit of work and I've lost money over the time spent doing it so not a good idea to carry on.

Although much of what I was wanting to say has already been said by wru and mecha_cop, I just wanted to say thank you for being such an open-hearted person in the community.
Your streams have become one of the things I look forward to when I get home from work - and have helped me through some depressive slumps.
Never give up on your passions, Sideshow. With your tenacity shown from your streams, articles, and TOing, you are bound to succeed wherever you go.
Good luck in all your endeavors!

Misjuged you in the past and eventually grew to genuinely enjoy what you did both on air and for the community as a whole. Hopefully you can get your carrer back on tracks.. For now, good luck with the future!
Hopefully sideshow could come back on tf2. When tf2 starts becoming a viable option for players and casters to make an income off of.

I doubt we can. And if we ever can, it is a long way's off.
