My team got bumped too. Despite the fact that i am not playing spy, on a team where only 1 other person has ever played HL (she played in s3) and where almost half of my team didnt even know what HL was and arent even pubstars.. they're just casual players. They just wanted to try HL out and have fun. So i requested us to be in iron. we are 2-4-2 scrimming iron teams.

And despite the fact i have most of the UGC admins on my friends list, not a single one talked to me about my team. They just saw me and bumped us up. When i was a UGC admin, i talked to the couple teams that i wanted to bump up/down as a courtesy to learn more about the team so i can make a more educated decision. I was not offered that same courtesy.

Same as Chimpoo, i too had major beef with infinite in the past which lead me to resign as a ugc admin due to his conduct.

Why does every UGC admin feel the need to emulate infinite's boundless retardation? Just put your teams in the right fucking divisions, nobody cares if you had a big meeting about it if the decision made was fucking stupid.

Also, redrum and inf both removed me from friends. What a joke, while one of the newer admins added me and offered a solution to this mess. Guess old dogs can't learn new tricks.

I like the fact that in your first thread in which you let them know WAAAAAAY before hand, Infinite was all like, yeah dont worry we usually do most of our move ups/downs near the start of the season, just wait till then. And now the admins are going yeah its too late now, have fun in plat lol.

1. Is it so hard for the UGC admins to admit they're wrong about something? I mean clearly it is for them, but it's just insane that such a level of immaturity exists among a group of people running an entire league. We really need to get another highlander outlet... is there any possibility of CEVO picking up highlander?

2. I'm gonna keep defending DMS cause I'm on the team :P We've made plat playoffs every season that we've been in the division. Sure, we've been low-mid plat, but we've always been top 10, and I think that warrants our spot in platinum.

As a member of the longest standing platinum team, If you can top frag pubs your good enough for plat. sure you might lose to the teams that scrim every night. But in the end if your not scrimming as an engie every night who's the real winner. If your worried about playing heavy have one of the pro career heavies review your demo........lol

My final response to the senior admins who all felt compelled to remove me from friends list lol

Lack of common courtesy with regards to deciding our team's placement even after I asked the admins WAY ahead of time: "What can I do to put our team in gold?", and did everything they asked, with ZERO response from any admins until they made their decision, gives me the pleasure to disrespect the senior admins of UGC publicly because they failed to give me any kind of respect. I only respect those who offer even the slightest of common courtesy to me. Learn from your junior admins, one of whom has offered a possible solution to this mess AND has even apologized on behalf of the UGC admins.

I remember when I had questions about my highlander team, RedRum told me he wasn't an admin just so he didn't have to answer my questions. Lol

Just FYI there are two redrums. The one with a backwards "r" (the engie for eBm) isn't an admin.

Here's the deal, UGC is a free league. There's no financial risk to them or you for getting stuck in a higher-tier league then what YOU think you should be playing at, either you suck it up and play or you take your ball and go home.

Now if UGC was a pay-league like ESEA, THEN it'd be an entirely different matter. You'd incur a significant risk of not getting a return on your investment by being forced to play at a higher division. Then you could probably work something out with them.

TL;DR - UGC is free, so Mann up you tiny babby men!

This isn't about making a profit, it's about having fun. Are there even Open prizes, or IM prizes? Is any Invite player or Platinum player or UGC Iron player or public player playing video games just for the money? Not having fun while playing video games is bad, because that's why people play video games.

I think that the fact that people can either play highlander with ugc, or not play highlander at all, is why ugc can get away with all this bullshit. If there was another free NA Highlander league the admins wouldn't be able to compete if they kept acting like dicks.

You missed my point, if people had to pay for UGC HL you'd see the admins changing their tune real quick. As it stands now they have no obligation to be nice about anything except to make sure the league stays running, the only way you'd change things is if you could convince at least 3/4th of the teams in EACH division to withdraw. And that is practically impossible.

Not making any excuses here, okay so maybe some of them could use a lesson in civility. But make no mistake, UGC is the only game in town when it comes to Highlander in North America. Those that want to play HL will have to play in UGC or else just fool around on PUGs, and that's not going to change unless a viable and better alternative is developed.

Not saying I'm looking to make a living off of TF2, it'd be nice but I know that's not going to happen anytime soon. What I am saying is if I'm going to put my hard-earned money or my sponsor's money into a season I want to have some reasonable assurance that I can recoup that investment back at the end, and getting shoved into a higher-level division where the chance of getting that return is significantly lower would not be in my best interest. TF2 is a hobby, yes, but personally at the same time I'm not going to sink an excessive amount of money into it unless I can earn it back later. But that's just me being frugal about it.

I hit this already up above, UGC really is the only place to play Highlander in NA. So again unless there's a sudden exodus of teams from all levels of the HL division nothing is going to change.

So... What are we going to do? Sit here and talk about it or take the initiative?

I hope CEVO is really successful with their first season, and hopefully they try starting highlander again.

Just had our first and last scrim with retro (Gold division team) on process, lost 0-3 before their team had to go. Some of our guys threw out the idea that we just not play if we have to face even better teams in Platinum. I'll try to provide logs.
BTW, retro isn't even in people's predictions for top 5 in gold division this season, according to the posts in the prediction thread on UGC forums. So what does that make us?
