r/tf2 knows the things it has been told. It knows the sleeper isn't used in comp, so they think any kind of buff is good. They've been told scout's the best class, so they regurgitate that despite having never seen a good scout. They've been told HL is closer to the true spirit of TF2, so hey yeah why not

I kinda wish Valve would actually release a HL mode just so people would see what it is

Jesus christ, really? I get that TF2 is free, but it's old. I would've thought the TF2 player-base would mostly the same 20-something-year-olds that were playing it 5-10 years ago like CS 1.6/source.

Welcome to 2016. Half of those 20-somethings have either moved on or are too busy with life to play often, and there's been a huge influx of kids drawn to the fact that it's free to play/cheap and has funny hats. Same as League, Dota, CSGO, Garry's Mod...

Also, this survey was also posted to r/tf2, which has a pretty young demographic. If it was posted elsewhere the results would be different.

Its honestly surprising a lot of people think heavys underpowered there too considering how unbelievably strong he can be in pubs.

I think it might be inflated by people caring about the heavy/pyro war thingy though.

Although there are a lot more counters to it in HL so it's not as prevalent there.

yea the point is that its a prevalent enough fact that everyone repeats it, despite having no personal experience for that statement.

Not saying scout is weak. Not saying Reddit is dumb. Saying that 99% of people on r/tf2 can only repeat what they've heard others say.
