I'll be moving into a new place soon, and need a new desk + chair, and I figured it might be a good time to switch over to a standing desk and forgo the chair. Anyone here have experience with one? How does it affect gaming? Is it worth it?

Truktruk said it took him about 2-3 weeks to get used to
Every 2-3 hours he takes a break from standing and sits down when using his computer
Here's a link from truktruk's stream (!whystand command) http://www.juststand.org/tabid/816/default.aspx

How does it affect gaming?
I personally don't have any experience with standing desks but I'm assuming gaming-wise it's basically the same thing once you're used to it.
Just make sure you take some sitbreaks every couple of hours or you might exhaust yourself (especially when you're still getting used to it)

Is it worth it?
Probably. There's health benefits (which you can read about in the link) and I don't know anyone who regretted buying a standing desk. But then again I only know like 3 people with a standing desk

TLR:

Best pocket to ever play the game
Ripped as SHIT
Deadlifts the combined weight of an entire 6s team

give me ONE reason not to use a standing desk

honestly a treadmill standing desk sounds like the future of health and ergonomics.

If you're uncomfortable with standing after only 2-3 hours, you either have a terrible physical issue you need to get checked out or you've been blessed with having a job where you don't need to stand to work.

Has anyone here tried using a desk bicycle?

I probably wouldn't use it while gaming (incompatible with foot pedal push-to-talk) But it seems like a desk bicycle would be even more healthy than a standing desk since, unlike a standing desk, you can actually move your body and do computer things at the same time.

You don't want to be standing the whole time either. Ideally you would alternate between standing and sitting for equal periods of time, as standing for extended periods has its own set of issues.

Of course, if you do balance the sitting and standing well, it's infinitely better than a regular desk.
